Willamette (1), Springfield, Oregon, USA does not count Nov 2, 2006 I tried this from the tap at the brewery in Springfield, Oregon. It has a very hoppy aroma and flavor. Seemed to be hop heavy but not overpowering. I remember a little accessory flavor but I couldn’t write down my experience due to my timing and location. In general I thought this was one of the best examples of a highly hopped IPA I have ever tried. I will go back with a growler and soak this up before it is all gone. Angeloregon (2002), Portland, Oregon, USA Mar 1, 2007 Updated: Mar 27, 2007I am a believer! Despite rocking a plethora of styles, Ninkasi delivers simultaneously one of the most unique and signature IPAs from Oregon. On the cusp of becoming an imperial, this gem of a beer is all that and a basket full of hop love. ironchefscott (246), long beach, California, USA Jan 5, 2007 Updated: Apr 4, 2008I tasted this cask conditioned at the horse brass in portland. It has a huge citrus nose which was unbelivable. It was a light clear golden beer(lighter than some ipa’s). and the flavor......oh the flavor awesome balance of malt and hops. Not overpowering with hops but balanced and surely assertive enough to keep interest throu the whole beer. It also had a really great head even though it was cask conditioned.......awesome beer!!!! Davecooks (1150), Bay Area, California, USA Oct 6, 2006 Draft. Murky dark amber color. Grassy grapefruit aroma. Malty and oh so bitter flavor. Pine grapefruit and a soft buttery finish. Schultsc (417), Henderson, Nevada, USA Jul 16, 2008 Slightly hazy light gold with a thin light tan head. Sweet summer fruits in the unique, highly-enjoyable aroma which consists of peach, muskmelon, light citrus, and a subtle dry grassiness. The flavor is straightforward and even with dry graininess and some pine and citrus hops flavors that supports the exquisite aroma well. The body consists of well balanced malt, alcohol, and hops characteristics over the multi-layered fruit flavor profile--a very interesting and well put together beer. Thanks Lucy.
