BückDich (4605), Boise, Idaho, USA Aug 12, 2008 Bottle: Pours a hazy amber color, nice white head and great lacing. The nose is grassy and fragrant, plenty of pine and orange in the nose. Ample caramel notes with a nice malty body never taking the focus off of the hops. Not bitter in the tail, more balanced towards the piney dry hops. Balanced and yummy. A little citronella note in the tail, which isn’t my favorite as far as hop notes.
fredandboboflo (722), East Setauket, New York, USA Nov 30, 2008 Bottle. Aroma of grapefruit, other citrus, perfumy hops. Flavor adds toasted/bready malt to the equation, as well as an earthy yeastiness that I didn’t find did wonders for the mouthfeel of an IPA. Still, pretty nice. LilBeerDoctor (733), East Setauket, New York, USA Nov 29, 2008 Bottle. Pours a slightly cloudy orange with a small white head. Aroma of grassy hops and grapefruit. Flavor is more citrusy with some grapefruit in the background. Nice IPA, nothing terribly exciting though. jsquire (1911), St. Marys, Ohio, USA Nov 28, 2008 Clear golden amber color out of the bottle with a sticky white head. Grapefruit juice, orange peel and hairspray in the nose. Really nice hop head beer, with lots of grapefruit, tangerine, and lemongrass notes. Bready malt backbone underneath it all with a long grapefruit rind finish. Enjoyable IPA. WeeHeavySD (2033), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA Oct 29, 2008 Bomber bonused from hannont, thanks Todd. Pours orange with a tan head. Nose is sweet and citrussy. Taste is very strange, its very bitter, but actually sweet, I get grapefruit, and a sour pucker from it. All in all this is a really interesting, grapefruit IPA. riversideAK (1757), Shoreline, Washington, USA Oct 28, 2008 Hazy golden orange with a nice lasting thin head and sticky lacing. Aroma is somewhat malty with hints of caramel and pale malts. Hops are earthy, floral, and herbal. Toasty malt flavors followed by a nice piney herbal hops. Not overly bitter, but more balanced and very drinkable.
