3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Tap. Copper. Nice white head and good lacing. Alcohol pine aroma. Starts bitter, then sweet alcohol, and clean finish. Very tasty, even if it could be a bit more complex.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft at Cannery Row brewing Company The Oregon ale poured a cloudy amber with a wispy head that dissipated. The nose detected citrus and resin hop aroma. The medium body had soft to average carbonation. The 100 IBU is high but bitterness did not seem that high. The finish had some sweet caramel and solid bitterness of a good D/IPA. We had a great waitress Alice who knew her ales.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a mildly hazy classic golden color with large, light beige, well-retaining head. Orange-grapefruit nose. Pretty smooth, wet mouthfeel. A lot of dehydrated citrus fruity sweetness that eventually gives way to a grapefruit bitterness at the finish. Alcohol is masked well.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: FEB 6, 2014 Pours a dark hazy amber/brown and leaves the same colored body with a one finger white foamy head that falls into the body after a minute, foamy clingy white lacing is left in the wake and spider webs after about thirty seconds, the smell is citrus hops, pine hops, a decent presence from some mangos and nicely backed up by a sort of caramel-ness, the taste is bittersweet - as its nicely combined between the bitterness of the citrus/pine hops to the caramel, little bit of a citrus aftertaste, quick dry puckering finish, its fairly easy on the palate, sessionable, alcohol is not really felt throughout the drink, carbonation seems to be good for the style and for me; overall a good DIPA that I would gladly have again, I am looking forward to trying more offerings from Ninkasi

2/19/2012. 22 oz. bottle. Dark amber color with a short white head. Aromas of caramel, hops, alcohol, citrus. The alcohol burn is a little overwhelming, but does blend with the caramel, hops and fruity flavors.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bomber thanks to michaelinwa. Pours a clear golden orange color with a small foamy head that lingers nicely and leaves some good lacing too. Sugary sweet aroma of pineapple, grapefruit, and lemons. Taste has a fairly strong malty sweetness with just a light bitterness. Juicy grapefruit and pineapple hops but there’s a diacetyl buttery off-flavor that’s pretty strong. Medium to thick body, somewhat syrupy mouthfeel. Not a fan.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 19/20
Bomber. Pours a clear aber with a small off white head. Aromas of grapefruit and citrus. Pretty good nose on this one. Taste is a pretty damn fine tropical fruit expression, aggressive, bitter. Fruity but not exactly sweet. finishes with a lingering pineapple note and a lasting bitterness. Very good.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured a finger of head on a clear, amber colored body.
The aroma is a good mixture of lemon, grapefruit and caramel.
The flavor is big and bold; lots of lemon bitterness with a good edge of malt and caramel to round it out.
The texture is crisp with moderate carbonation.
Enjoyable and bold.

Tap at Beer Rev, Oakland. Amber orange pour. Plenty of thick pine and grapefruit on the nose, some floral notes and fairly sweet cake dough malt. Big pine resin in the taste -mouthcoating - pithy grapefruit and orange. Fairly sweet caramel to frame it. More grassy hops. Pretty hot. Lingering piney hop oils. Tongue stripping bitterness. This is a big lad.
