From a bomber I got at Sam’s in Chicago ’bout 6 weeks ago. Poured with a nice off-white head and some lace. Color is a medium hazy amber. Aroma is a really nice caramel and hop. Flavor is much more interesting: not as sweet as the nose suggests; a little dry up front and a sweetish finish. There’s a little fruit in there - citrus and maybe a little crisp pear. Body is good too - almost a champagne carbonation, full effervescence, not thin, but not heavy. Great American IPA finish. Very good beer. Don’t pick up the alcohol.

7/18/2009: Ninkasi Tricerahops pours a tarnished golden color. The medley of flavors and aroma characteristics include sweet caramel, tons of sweet orange citrus, red grapefruit, and tangerine. This is dangerously drinkable for a Double IPA - so much so that I would go so far as to call this a sessionable DIPA! Delicious! This was my favorite new beer of the day...

Draught sample(s) at the 14th Annual Indiana Microbrewers Festival in Indianapolis, Indiana. Rating #156 for this beer.

Bottle shared by DuffmanSw. Pours cloudy copper with a dense tan head. Aroma is loads of citrus, somewhat floral, with sweet caramel malt in the background. Flavor is more bitter than expected. Tons of grapefruit. Some caramel, not as sweet as aroma suggests, long bitter finish. Chewy with low carbonation.

Sampled in a big bottle. A pretty good IIPA. Pours light brown with a golden hue. A fair amount of head and sedementation. Big hops on this one and sweet aftertaste. Well worth a try.

Bomber. Poured medium peachy golden with a short cap of off-white head. The aroma picked up juicy grapefruit with excellent balance between sweetness and spicy hoppage.. warmth brought out candied caramel and some floral character. The flavor opened with tangy, bitter pine resin and tart grapefruit meat, opening into darker grapefruit meat, caramel, and mild cereal at the core.. spicy floral and citrusy bitterness shot off in all directions and enveloped the tongue.. juicy back-end with residual sugars and memorable resiny bitterness. Medium-plus bodied, again with very good balance on the palate.. spicy, juicy, and engaging. Great stuff!

Bottle. Pours with a copper color and a medium head. Aromas of grapefruit and some floral notes. Nice flavors of some strong hops but offset by some sweetness form the malts. Hides the alcohol well, with a nice full mouthfeel. Some bitter finish. What an DIPA should be, very good.

Boo hoo hoo. Didn’t do ooh ooh it for me. The pretty blue ooh label. The bottle sat on my table. I wasn’t happy, thought it was crappy.
