Headbanger (1001), Aurora, Illinois, USA Jul 7, 2008 22oz bottle-Pours a orangish body with a small off white head. Aroma of citrus, hops, and a little malt. Taste of the same with a little bitterness on the back end. Very well balanced without the hops being overbearing. Nice Double.
Reid (1000), Salem, Oregon, USA Oct 7, 2008 Hazy, burnt orange coloured ale, thick creamy creme coloured head.
Very nicely hopped aroma..mainlly citrus aromas, some alt in the back ground, nice and fresh.
Taste is very nicely hopped, citric in style , but oddly orange peel flavours..like a good darker breakfast marmalade. Strong malt backbone to this..long lasting bitter after taste.
Nice on the palate..quite thick and satisfying.
Overall a good drink..one of the more balalced DIPAs I have encountered. anders37 (2752), Malmö, Sweden Oct 6, 2008 Draught @ Horse Brass Pub, Portland. Has a malty hoppy bitter finish with a long bitter aftertaste golubj (1035), Redwood City, California, USA Oct 5, 2008 Bottle, kieferuga somehow snuck this into my box after our tasting, thanks! Amber pour, with a little white head. Aroma is mandarin oranges, citrus hops, and some sweet malt. Flavor is the same, both sweet and biscuity malt, lots of nice mandarin orange flavor, and some more resinous bittering hops. Pretty delicious beer. tjthresh (1321), Greenfield, Indiana, USA Oct 5, 2008 22 ounce bottle. Pours a dense hazy copper with a resinous off white head. Rich, robust hop aroma of pine cleaner and candies grapefruit. Flavor is full of pine and citrus peal flavors. Aggressive lingering bitterness. A little bit of malt for balance. Medium body with pleasant carbonation. Balanced finish at first, but then the bitterness comes back for an encore. Really good. Sure to please most hopheads. SuzyGreenberg (1044), Seattle, Washington, USA Oct 2, 2008 draft @ uber - another good one from ninkasi; clear orange with frothy white head; sticky, grassy hops; on the sweet side and only bitter at the end; strength is obvious and body on the thin side; pretty nice overall
