On tap at the Taphouse Grill. Pours orangey-tan with a nice off-white head. Nice lacing throughout the glass. Aroma has sweet pine with bitter citrus, and some caramel. Simcoe & Amarillo blended well. Taste is of sprucy pine (welcome to the northwest!), bitter citrus with sweet caramel for balance. Somewhat syrupy. Very well balanced and the alcohol is only faintly present. Finishes bittersweet and fairly long. This is a nice one!

Bottle. Lots of grassy hop flavor. Medium alcohol taste. Not too much bitterness in the aftertaste.

Bottle sample at a tasting, thanks Rotem. Hazy orange with a big head. Smell of stale fruity hops and marmalade. Sweet malty flavors with caramel, tropical fruits (peach, mango), strong hops bitterness, pretty stale. Not fresh enough to fully enjoy it.

From the bottle at the Bayou. Hazy copper color with a sticky, khaki head. Lighter than expected hop aroma but also some caramel malt. Balanced flavor with sweeter malt balancing the bitterness. Slightly syrupy from the high plato. Nice and not over the top.

(En fût au Hooley’s Irish Pub): Corps machable, même encombrant qui est infusé d’un tas de feuilles mortes. L’amertume est moyenne mais doté d’une endurance impressionnante. Très terreux et sucré, pas très sympathique.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12oz bottle in a cup. Looks amber with an off-white head. Aroma of bitter and floral and lightly piney hops, some pale and caramel malts, and some dough. Flavor the same. Average texture. A typical west coast IPA, too bitter and boring with the hops.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Aroma and flavor of a lot of hops. Hoped the aroma would have been a little stronger but it was bold none the less. Mild sweetness on the finish. Bitterness a little harsh. Average double IPA color and medium body.

My birthday beer from 2012! Poured out of a bomber into a pint glass. The beer is very aromatic, and up-front about it’s bitterness. Good drink.

Draft. Not a lot of aroma. Loose lace. Big, bitter tangerine flavor moderated by some pith on the finish. Some caramel and maybe chocolate malts sit in the background as the hop bitterness intensifies. Solid but not special.
