bu11zeye (3628), Frisco, Texas, USA May 3, 2008 (22oz bottle) Pours a cloudy orange body with a small white head. Aroma of pine, citrus, caramel, and florals. Flavor of hops (pine, grapefruit) and caramel malt with a dry, bitter finish.
sneagrams3 (1367), St. Louis, Missouri, USA Aug 9, 2008 The Dan Journal #215. Tasted 7/22/08. 22oz bomber. Hazy with a straw golden hue. Spotty off-white head. Bright citrus aromas. Lotta grapefruit. Full bodied and good! Bright and bitter. Crisp with a pronounced lemon citrus flavor. Over the top citrus! timfoolery (333), California, USA Aug 7, 2008 Bottle from PC Market of Choice in Ashland, OR. The Tricerahops was a bit malty for a typical DIPA, but I tend to like that. There was a good mix of citrus and piney hops, which made this brew a bit more complex. Very good brew. IMtheOptimator (1113), Bethel, Connecticut, USA Aug 5, 2008 Poured golden with a frothy white head. Nice piney grapefruit rind aroma. Flavor is more piney and grassy, not a lot of citrus flavor, without a whole lot of malt sweetness to support the bitter hops. Flavor ends with some metallic alcohol. Flavor doesn’t quite hold up to the aroma, which is one of the most disappointing things that can happen to a double IPA. Ramenen (333), San Salvador, El Salvador Jul 31, 2008 Thanks to Juancho. Pours beautiful, hazy, deep, golden color, with a long lasting tan head. Aroma of grapefruit. Looks and smells delicious. Medium/light bodied, it has a nice front with grapefruit and other citrus, however towards the back of your mouth it becomes weak. A bit soapy at the end. DTM (361), Winters, California, USA Jul 31, 2008 Bottle from PC Market of Choice in Ashland, OR. Poured an orange color with a white head. Smelled piney and of citrus. Hoppy bitter taste with enough malt backbone to make it smooth on the palate. Very impressive.
