3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at the Alibi Room, pours black with a small brown head. Aroma of rich roasted malt upfront, with dry cocoa and subtle hints of vanilla in back. Flavour brings out extremely potent notes of vanilla, which dominate everything, with subtle notes of cocoa and roast in the back. The vanilla is rather overburdening, with a tad too much sweetness. Light mouthfeel, but potency flavoured. Good, but I prefer the original Oatis.

Yum! This beer was good from start to finished. I don’t generally drink stout but I’ve been back for this one again and again.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Heavy vanilla aroma, some graham crackers and light roastiness. Vanilla flavor with maple syrup finish. Pretty decent notes but the body is on the thin side and these rich sweet flavors need some body for support.

Appearance: Opaque black with robust creamy khaki head
Aroma: Chocolate, coffee, vanilla
Taste: Slightly sweet at the start with a dry bitter chocolate finish

Overall: Taste profile is fairly subtle, although the vanilla adds a nice dimension.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown with generous tan head that leaves great lacing around the glass. Aroma of vanilla and oats. Flavor is roasted malts, vanilla, oats, and bread. Very smooth and thick, almost syrupy. Delicious, but pretty heavy.

Not great oatmeal thickness feels more syrupy maybe from the slight Cola flavor. Great beer tho. A meal in itself

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Rating from 6/11/13. Bomber bought at Barney’s in Pinehurst, ID. Pours opaque black with a medium sustaining tan head that laces. Aroma is strong in vanilla, toast. Taste is both sweet and bitter, but the bitterness isn’t as harsh here as in regular Oatis. Body is full, carbonation average, creamy mouthfeel. Nice enough, but as with regular Oatis, the bitterness takes too much away from this. When I have an oatmeal stout, especially one made with vanilla, I want it to be sweeter; not cloying, of course, but just right.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
22 oz bottle. It pours a nice dark brown color with a brown head. The aroma is vanilla, lactic sweetness, cocoa. The flavor is sweet with the vanilla a bit overpowering… a bit of roasted bitterness toward the finish. I think I like the regular Oatis better.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Smell rich choc. With a nice vanilla note. The roasted malts really come out Its a deep brown with a little light brown head. Nice full bodied brew very chocolately and a hint of vanilla. The bitterness of the choc is delicious and the vanilla is on the aftertaste. Very well done
