Molasses aroma; sweet/caramel, with vanilla and coffee-like roast. A lot of vanilla flavor, with sweet/molasses. Subtle chocolate/coffee roasted malt.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured from a 22 ounce bomber. Pours jet black with no head. The aroma is subtle when cold, caramel, molasses, vanilla, as it warms there is a woody character that comes through. The flavor is strong vanilla, chocolate, the sweet malts and vanilla make me think there is bourbon in this. There is a soft woody character as well.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bomber from somewhere in California. Medium body for a Stout - I’ve had heavier, lighter, more chocolate, more coffee, but this one is different with the VANILLA. Didnt taste it much in the beginning of the bomber, but about halfway through the bomber, once it had warmed up - whooaaa! Good stuff. Really unique and a nice flavor. Not the hoppiest stout I’ve had, but a decent amount of hops cuts through the sweetness quite well.Overall, another fine offering from Ninkasi, one of my top ten breweries.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Rich, creamy, latticed with complexity. The vanilla is subtle but noticeable, the body is thick but refreshing. This is a beer that desires to be poured over a scoop of vanilla bean specked ice cream. One of Ninkasi’s best offerings.

5 oz flight from a tap takeover at Provisions market, nice roasted malt aroma, some sweet hop and malt in the initial taste that fades into a wonderful mellow vanilla finish. Great beer

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
It looks like everything you want in a stout ... black body with dark brown head. Sadly the head is gone within 1 minute. Mildly roasted malts dominate the taste with muted vanilla ... if any vanilla at all. Finishes smooth.

Nice black pour with some fading brown head. Roasted malts that fade into some bitter chocolate. Pretty strong vanilla taste throughout. Great beer.

3.1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Oat and dark malt aroma. Black in color with a creamy tan head. Tobacco and oat feel to it. Not much vanilla but it is lingering there in the background. Good and heavy feel.

Have always been a fan of the tried and true Ninkasi Oatmeal Stout (tastes great with a shot of Whipped Vodka), so was curious to try the Vanilla. Not bad.
