3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Okay, yes, this is a great beer. Tasted from a big brown bottle into a nonic pint glass. Thanks, gregwilsonstl! It poured a very dark reddish brown colour with thin but persistent tan head and some nice lace. Aromas and flavours of toast, roasted barley, a definite hops bitterness, more present than classic stouts, tart and fruity, VERY STRONG vanilla, but somehow still harmonious. Medium-full body, average carbonation, with a simultaneously bready and silky mouthfeel. It struck me as a roasty creme soda or an even creamier than usual, candy-like oatmeal sweet stout. Good stuff. Finally I can see what all the Ninkasi fuss is about.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours high 30s, beige head. Aroma some roast, vanilla, some choco-coff. Flavour as much chocolate as vanilla, but that always confuses me because you put vanilla into a chocolate cake don’t you? Mild roast. Finish has more vanilla than usual. Medum viscosity. Very nice, quite simple.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Appearance: silky near black, with one finger of creamy, frothy, light tan head that lingered forever, leaving scads of lace. Aroma: balanced nose of roast coffee, cream, chocolate pudding, vanilla, and a bit of green wood. Taste: creamy milk chocolate, vanilla, coffee, with a hint of chalk. Finish: smooth, creamy, slightly dry, with lasting roasty notes. Notes: Liked that, although billed as a vanilla-infused stout, the vanilla did not overpower the excellent stout base. Rather, the vanilla added a slightly creamy, sweet note that nicely accentuated the dry, bittersweet chocolate and roast notes. Very good. Great palate.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours a dark thick black with a thick tan head that really sticks to the glass. Smells very malty, touch of caramel and coffee and a hint of vanilla. Tastes like it smells with the coffee and nut notes along with the caramel and oat. Decent beer, but was expecting more vanilla. The oatmeal is a nice touch for the smoothness.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bomber from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours dark brown with a 3 finger foamy tan head. Aroma of herbs and burnt malt. Med body. Flavor is exceptionally smooth moderately dark milk chocolate. It is on the non-dry side, so this is very much like drinking dessert. Smooth burnt malts. Vanilla accents the chocolate - which seems to make it "milk chocolate". Delicious.

I love vanilla so this is heaven for me....Tons of vanilla, but it’s obviously not extract. Tastes like a dark hoppy cream soda. Roasted. Some coffee Thanks aaron...I really enjoyed this.

3.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bomber from Boundary Crossing Liquor Store in Vancouver. Jet black with moderate tan head. Vanilla and sweet malts on the nose. Tastes of coffee, chocolate and vanilla. Malts are very well roasted and the vanilla is understated, and that in a good way. Body is thick and oily to this palate, and the finish is long and malty-sweet. Very satisfying!

Not sure where I got this. Nugget in Woodland, I think. 22oz bottle. The aroma on this is pleasant enough. It is mostly dominated by sweet vanilla character. Not much else. Light underlying cocoa. Pretty straight forward. Attractive dark mahogany opaque body with a medium, very strong tan head. Starts with a slight roastiness, before the palate is bombarded with sweet vanilla flavors. The vanilla lasts for a while, before a little burnt roastiness comes through in the end to finally balance this beer. Velvety mouthfeel All in all, this is a little too sweet and overdone with the vanilla. It’s enjoyable, but 22oz might be a little much for 1 or 2 people to handle.
