3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
650ml bottle pours almost black in color with a finger and a half of light brown head that leaves some nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is vanilla and light roasted grains with some chocolate. Taste is a pronounced chocolate malt sweetness with a definite vanilla presence combined with a grass and herbal hop bitterness. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Nicely done for the style and highly recommended to try.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from Safeway in Port Angeles, WA. Aroma is watered-down chocolate, faint-roast, and some vanilla bean. Flavor is mostly the same. I really like Oatis, so I figured this to be better. I have to say that the vanilla beans really strip the body and some of the roastiness. Palate is nice on carbonation, but lingering bitterness on the center of my tongue and an odd bitter/sour bubble make it just ok. Fair beer.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
22oz bottle. Clear dark reddish brown with a small light tan head. Aroma of vanilla, milk chocolate, coffee and light roast. Flavor of rich chocolate, warming vanilla extract and some bitter roast. Medium body with a soft mouth feel. Very good but I think I like the standard version better.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
22oz Bottle pours black with a nice full dark tan head that recedes fairly quickly. Aroma is some sweet (vanilla?) roasted notes and some slightly sour metallic hints. Somewhat lacking in the big bold classic stout characteristics. Flavor is sour, again, modest roast flavors and, yes, some vanilla. A lingering bitter twang left me wishing for something a little more.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Thick, deep, opaque chocolate brown. Light brown fine head, fairly fast rate of decay. Aroma is cream soda with light grass, earth. Body is medium. Flavor is Roast, burnt marshmallow, moderate vanilla, and surprisingly dry for a sweet stout. Ok. A lot of cream soda and dryer than expected.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at the Alibi Room, pours black with a small brown head. Aroma of rich roasted malt upfront, with dry cocoa and subtle hints of vanilla in back. Flavour brings out extremely potent notes of vanilla, which dominate everything, with subtle notes of cocoa and roast in the back. The vanilla is rather overburdening, with a tad too much sweetness. Light mouthfeel, but potency flavoured. Good, but I prefer the original Oatis.

Yum! This beer was good from start to finished. I don’t generally drink stout but I’ve been back for this one again and again.
