3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
22. Pours jet black with a light but dense and creamy pale tan head. Lots of spotty lace. Big sweet nose, showing plenty of chocolate and vanilla, along with darkly roasted caramel malt sweetness. Vanilla foremost. Creamy thick body with sluggish carb. Vanilla, then chocolate, then roastiness, the darkly toasted caramel on the mid palate. Minimal hop presence. Long sweet vanilla finish. Nice sweeter stout.

2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 6/20
22oz bottle from Roths Sunnyslope Market in S.Salem.
Pours a deep black colour with a large bubbly/frothy tan head.
Nice oaty, sweety vanilla, roasted coffee and semi dark chocolate aromas.
Smooth vanilla at first then it gets a rather unpleasing lemon peel bitterness..not liking this..its odd taste of raw alcohol..bad.
The raw alcohol and grating bitter lemon make this a challenge on the palate.
THis is bad..i hop i got a bad bottle ..i think i cant drink any more.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Found this at WinCo of all places. Pours with fairly long lasting dark tan head... the brew is pretty much black except a little light making it through the stem end of my glass.
Plenty of vanilla on the nose... it sorta masks the background cocoa aroma, but the chocolate/roasty notes are definitely just there, just bullied out by the vanilla.
Flavor mirrors the nose almost exactly...
Body seems a little watery, but somehow still retains an unusual smoothness probably from the oats... carbonation is on the light side, but certainly within style guidelines.
Well made beer, but just not to my liking.

Bomber poured a clear dark reddish brown with a lingering ring of tan foam. Aromas of vanilla, cocoa and light roastiness. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of vanilla, cocoa and roasted malt with a smooth lingering roasty vanilla finish.

Bottle shared by oRos. Pours near black with a decent tan head and a chocolate and vanilla aroma. There is a carbonated chocolate flavor with lots of vanilla and a slightly bitter finish.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours with little head, the vanilla is apparent with just a cursory sniff and immediately hits the palate. There is no vanillan astringency, maybe because it finishes so sweet. I hoped for a bit more bitterness to cut sweet, but I think in a tasting with other stouts its contrarian flavors would shine.
