Bottle @ home, shared by Jake. Just about black in color with a tan head. Aromas of vanilla, roast, and coffee. Dark chocolate, dark fruit, and moderately hoppy. Bitter dark chocolate flavor, coffee, and earthy hops. Light vanilla, plenty of roast, and a bit of licorice.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Really nice. Solid oatmeal stout foundation, with a strong vanilla infusion in taste -- just as you'd expect from reading the label. Not sweet, and slightly bitter. Finishes quite dry. B+

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Appearance is a very dark brown color with a fairly stable head leaving fair lace. Smell of the dark malt, vanilla and a bit of the oatmeal. Taste is in par with the aroma having a nice balance with the hops. Mouthfeel is full and creamy with good carbonation. A very nice stout with a twist.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle: Very dark brown pour with a finger of creamy tan head. Mild aroma is roast, cocoa, and faint vanilla. It’s been a while since I last had the base Oatis, but I had expected more out of the vanilla experience. The roast and bittersweet dark chocolate seem to clash a bit. The bitters stick to my tongue... not really picking up any vanilla now either. The mouthful is thick and creamy like the original, but overall it falls short.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
22 oz bottle poured into a tulip. Pours brownish black with thin mocha head. Appearance is a bit watery but nice full mouthfeel. Aroma is thick roasty malt with sweet vanilla in the finish. Taste is similar, very dark roasty malt dominates. Vanilla only comes through at the very end. Dark bitter aftertaste. I thought the regular Oatis was oddly sweet, here the vanilla melds well with the sweetness of it. Time for a vertical!

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle:   Black, thin to moderate frothy tannish head, nice lacing.   Moderately roasty on the nose.   Faint vanilla and coffee on the nose.   Smooth roasted malts on the tongue, vanilla comes out on the finish.
Very light in that aspect.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Light roasted malts, a touch of vanilla on the finish.   Not the depth or body I was hoping for, but still good.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
650ml bottle pours almost black in color with a finger and a half of light brown head that leaves some nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is vanilla and light roasted grains with some chocolate. Taste is a pronounced chocolate malt sweetness with a definite vanilla presence combined with a grass and herbal hop bitterness. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Nicely done for the style and highly recommended to try.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from Safeway in Port Angeles, WA. Aroma is watered-down chocolate, faint-roast, and some vanilla bean. Flavor is mostly the same. I really like Oatis, so I figured this to be better. I have to say that the vanilla beans really strip the body and some of the roastiness. Palate is nice on carbonation, but lingering bitterness on the center of my tongue and an odd bitter/sour bubble make it just ok. Fair beer.
