3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a pitch black color with a tan head that leaves spotty soapy looking lacing. Smells of roasted malt, chocolate, oatmeal and slight vanilla. Tastes of the same things in the smell but the vanilla is more noticeable in the taste. Mouthfeel is thick and creamy and slightly chewy with decent carbonation. Overall its just as good as the original oatis maybe slightly better since vanilla is added and its well blended unlike what the last reviewer said.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, light brown, mostly diminishing. Body is dark brown to black. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (chocolate, roasted grain), with a light note of vanilla. Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, velvety/watery texture, lively carbonation, lightly to moderately alcoholic.
A little better than the regular Oatis, but not because of the vanilla...heck, thereís probably even LESS vanilla-like odor here (as wacky as that sounds); itís very very mild and frankly I wouldnít even guess it was added. What makes this a teeny bit better is the flavor balance and mouthfeel; itís not quite as goopy-sweet. It still only rises slightly above average, though.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Poured from a bomber into a tumbler on 03.05.14.
A: Motor oil. Tan head.
S: Roasty malt. Thereís hint of vanilla.
T: Follows the nose.
M: Extremely smooth as an oatmeal stout should be.
O: This has a nice balance so it doesnít end up being too sweet. The vanilla takes the edge off of the roasty malt. This was a solid oatmeal stout.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours dark with minor lacing with a micro-head to the bottom. The taste is slightly vanilla and dark fruits mixed with the dark chocolate malt. I little thin over all but good.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
651 ml. bottle. Pours a thick, tiny bubbled, well retained light beige head, with Belgian lacing, over a clear, brownish black (SRM 35) body.....nose is heavy roasted malts with cocoa, chocolate, coffee minimal hops, vanilla hints balance to the malts....taste is slightly sweet, with light toffee/caramel notes, cocoa, chocolate, coffee from the roasted malts, light vanilla, finishing dry with coffee, hop bitterness.....mouth feel, slightly heavy of medium body, light alcohol warmth, creamy body, light carbonation. The vanilla was used with a light hand, and was not overly dominant, just additive. Initially the dark (coffee) notes from the malts were overly dominant, but as it opened up the toffee/caramel, vanilla notes came up to balance. The net effect is a pleasant beer for cool to cold weather drinking. BJCP 8/3/15/5/7

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Finally getting to try this by Ninkasi. Its about time. This was from my haul back from Anchorage.
22 oz bottle poured into tulip.
The appearance was a nice looking dark brown color with a thin white to off white slightly foamy head As the head dissipated, a nice settling lacing weaves itís way around the glass.
The smell was basically oatis with a light creamy vanilla coming through as it warmed. Nice, I liked it.
The taste was pretty much the same as the smell with a sticky sort of creamy vanilla aftertaste that lead to a dry finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a mostly sipping quality to it. The carbonation is mainly subdued but thatís okay as I believe the oats part complements the bulk of the body. It rolls nice and creamy over my tongue.
Overall, this was a really nice sweet stout Iím so glad I finally got to try. I would have this again.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bomber crushed with Dadbra. Black pour with a tan head. Aroma is big time vanilla with some roast in the background. Pretty sweet flavor with more vanilla coming through, with a bittersweet, clean finish. Probably drank this one too quickly to fully enjoy it. Damn good.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at Pig and Pickle, Arizona. Pours pitch black with creamy tan head. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, some sweet almost lactose notes. But of vanilla. Not bad Aroma. But the flavor is exceptional. Dark chocolate, coffee, vanilla, little bit of hop (or coffee bitterness). Nice creamy mouthfeel. Long bitter finish. Exceptional.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bomber, $4 at the Super 1 Rathdrum, ID. Paired with siblings in law over games of Cards Against Humanity. Pours dark brown with creamy tan head. Some lacing. Aroma: chocolate malt; roast, caramel, artificial vanilla flavor; roast. Taste is moderately sweet, with a surprisingly nice balance between chocolate/roast/coffee and the vanilla. That vanilla is snappy. Palate: medium body, creamy texture, average carbonation. Overall: pretty nice sweet stout. Nose is meh, but taste is nice.
