COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The first Greek beer to be awarded a silver European Beer Star (2014).

Edgy and refreshing, with a perfect mouthfeel, this balanced and exceptionally full-bodied Pilsner tantalizes the taste buds and leaves you wanting more. The liquid quintessence of Aegean island living and Cycladic magic… in a bottle.

NISSOS Pilsner pours crystal clear with a rich golden color, a spicy, fragrant, herbal-citrusy aroma and subtle malt flavors, rounding off with a pleasant hoppiness at the finish. 12°

500 ml bottle with interesting story on a nicely designed label. Pours clear amber with nice white head that keeps well. Nice lacing. Aroma has a good balance of bready grain and more than one hops, and also citrucy and floral undertones. Tastes a good balance of sweetness and hop bitterness. A full bodied beer with medium carbonation, light texture with a crisp and interesting finish. A very good Greek pilsner from an island microbrewery. I will certainly enjoy it again at Tinos or Syros...and pair it with Greek food.

Greece 2014 travel Journal notes - Samos One of the better Greek beers I’ve had. Pours a bright golden and slightly hazy colour with light carbonation in the body. Light straw flavour, cereal, grains, mild bitterness. Well balanced, truly refreshing, crisp and clean.

500 ml bottle, from a supermarket in Rhodos. ABV is 5%. Golden colour, slightly hazy. Moderate white head, nice lacing. Very moderate grainy aroma. The flavour is moderately malty but also surprisingly fruity, medium dry. Moderate hops in the finish. Very drinkable.

Bottle at our holiday hotel in Crete. Pleasantly surprised to find a half-way decent beer on the menu. This is a clean tasting and pleasant Pilsner, with a good appearance, caramel notes and subtle hints of spice and pepper. Refreshing and with a medium bitter finish. Not bad at all.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Tom L’s place. Thanks tomer. Clear golden. Aroma of corn and cardboard. Sweetish flavor, corny, with a bit of honey, cardboard, and a slightly bitterish finish. Light-bodied.

At a tasting, many thanks Panayiotis, smallish bubbly head, clear deepish yellow , vanila, candy aroma with some paper, fruity honey flavor with a hint of oxidation and yeast. Drinkable but a bit old.

From Mr. Liquor, Clemton Park. 330ml bottle into schooner glass. Kind of a slow gusher, ending up with large frothy head on a hazy highly carbonated amber beer. A tiny bit of sediment visible. Aroma of grain and hops. Fizzy and sweet, light body. The grainy hops and some pepper come back right at the end. Drinkable old style Pils.

Bottle. A slightly buttery, but otherwise quite okay pilsener. Has the air of slight amber without really going there. Quite sweet. Okay, works well with Greek food.
