COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Uniquely different dark wheat ale. This beer is brewed with a touch of star of anise at the end of the boil to give it a nice smooth finish with a slight hint of licorice. Caution, just like a Black Widow, this beer will bite you if you are not careful!

Dark brown almost cherry pour. Decent head. Dark malt aroma with licorice. Flavor starts off as more of a stout but finishes with wheat characteristics. ---Rated via iPhone

Bottle from Cavie. Dark pour with a small white head. Aroma is chalk, roasted, and licorice. Taste is milky, chalk still, and some weirdness in the finish.

Bottle from Cavie. Very dark color, white head. I do smell the hint of liquorish, but it's not overpowering. Maybe a hint of coffee in the flavor. Feels a little thin in the mouth.

Bottle from central market. Pours a very dark brownish red color with a foamy white head. Dark chocolate aroma with roasted malts. Flavor is dry and roasted with some toasty notes. Slight burnt flavor. Good though!

Pretty dark and actually pretty clear, with an almost auburn color when held to the light. Light brown head was about a finger but didn’t last too long. Lacing wasn’t much. Definitely some chocolate, roasted malts, cocoa, nuts in the aroma. Taste is a little odd but not bad. Roasted malts, chocolate and cocoa, nuts, and a little anise make an appearance. Not too much in the way of hops. Body is light, creamy, and slick, with a bitter chocolate finish. It’s ok but not spectacular.

Pours dark brown with a good sized beige head. Aroma of coffee, toast, hay, white wine, pears, and a slight toffee sweetness. Flavors follow a similar path with a semi-sweet toasty and coffee flavored malt with added interest from the yeast (slight banana, pear, and white wine flavors). No bitterness, just roast flavors and fruit. Easy to drink, good carbonation, creamy mouthfeel. Good balance of elements, more exciting than black IPAs at least!

still not sure what this is - RB says Belgian; Bottle says dark wheat?? nice arom that I can’t fully detail -definite caramel malt + a couple of other things. dark pour; med. carbonation. Taste was easy to drink - thin, but several flavors that went down easy..

Bottle. Aroma has a touch of belgian yeast and a darker, bready malt smell. The appearance is black with a little light tan head. The taste is of dark malt with that hint of anise present the whole time. Not very complex. The palate is alright. Overall, a decent beer. That's about it. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Nice head. Anise. - a black licorice flavor. A nice dark beer, but beware, it will get you. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
