I give this high marks because I think they pulled it off. I was expecting a gimmick beer but it works. The aroma is fresh jalapeño with a little malt. Golden color with two-finger white head. Lighter weight like a pilsner with average carbonation. The dominant flavor is jalapeño, maybe some smokiness and a little hops. There is a bit of heat at the back end but nothing like Ghost Face Killah. Good job.

Bottle @ America Strikes Back, Ulfborg. Pours slightly amber with airy white head. Clear aroma of spice, malt and hops. Deafening flavour of jalalalalalalalapeno yee-haw! Rodeo, man! Sweetish, malty notes can be discerned only in the onset. Then everything goes black...

Pours a hazy gold. Smell is slightly smoky and peppery with faint maltiness. kind of chipotle like. Taste is a bit vegetal and golden ale like with a definite hit of jalapeno and tingly spice. Definitely one of the better pepper beers Iv’e had that isn’t a stout. Medium bodied and lightly prickly carbonation that is accentuated in its prickliness by the spice. Pretty good.

Bottle. Pours a clear light orange color with a bubbly white head. Aroma has a fat chile aroma, spicy and slightly smoked. Roasted chiles. Flavor is peppery, spicy with a very warm mouthfeel. Tingles, with a nice roasted chile flavor. This is pretty nice! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A: Honey gold, slightly cloudy. Thin head, S: Freshly opened Jalapeno with some spice. A hint of the malts and some floral notes later on. T: Jalapeno, malt then then the heat along with the lingering jalapeno, then just heat that just stays. B: Medium O: It’s not a bad beer. I can handle hot stuff, but I could see how someone might not like this due to the heat factor.

That has a very nice color and does not really smell of jalapenos. You as soon as you take a sip the pepper flavor comes out and hits the back of your throat. It has a very nice body. And the pepper really accents it. I would actually buy a six pack of this.

The one thing that stood out to me the most about this beer is how much jalapeño meat came through in the flavor. Alot of times, with pepper beers that is, you get a decent amount of capsaicin coating the lips and throat for a delicious burn, but you don’t always get much flavor from the actual pepper itself. Most of the time it depends on the style and the varieties of pepper used. And, in my opinion, when a brewer makes a lighter-bodied ale it’s sometimes awkwardly balanced. I think this turned out very well-balanced. The body itself is not too light, and not too heavy, but just thick enough to support both the flavor of the pepper flesh and the effects of the spice. There’s no doubt that the jalapeños are the featured ingredient, and they take front stage. Nothing’s getting in their way, but rather complimenting. A strong, but comfortable burn hits the throat first, and only after a third of the bottle does the burn hit the lips. And when it does it seems to do so simultaneously with an almost crystallized sugar-type sweetness. Although it’s incredibly easy to drink, I wouldn’t suggest drinking more than one of these at a time. The meaty thickness of the peppers is persistent, and although it’s somewhat light-bodied, it does weigh you down. Besides... those of us that have to watch our acid intake should always remember the rule of moderation.
