Bottle. Pours a dark brown, almost black with quick dissipating brown head. Aromas of milk chocolate, milk sugar, a bit of coffee. Smells like a desert. Taste is more coffee than the aroma, a bit of chocolate and a bit of sweetness. Mildly bitter finish. Palate is thick body, smooth. Good local beer.

This easy-bodied milk stout is dark brown in color, but somewhat thin in appearance. It has a nose of intense caramel, some burnt caramel, and some hops. It’s very light in body, with roasted malts mid-palate, a semi-bitter roasted finish, and just a little sweetness to glue it all together. Overall, it’s not a very sweet milk stout. It’s light and mellow, but a little unbalanced. Why, specifically, a milk stout is named after a Panamanian boat, I have no clue.

12 oz bottle. Poured a dark brown/black shade with a thin khaki head and minimal lacing. Taste of roasted dark malts, chocolate and lactose. Medium carbonation, medium-thick body. Only negative is it could be a little higher ABV. Cheers.

Pours a dark brown with tan head. Roasted malt and some coffee on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes with a bit of a sweet roasty note.

Extra from Cloaker. Thanks! Dark slightly translucent brown. Bit of dark malts on the nose, some light coffee on the taste. Not overly sweet. Decent if forgettable.

as a home brewer I am wondering why is the [OG] orginal gravity, is listed on the bottle ,,this will only help if you are making a [clone] of this beer, and only if you read the label,,,, this is a great dry milk stout ,,, [ in my opion] yours may be different [ to each there own ] not sweet ,, but still good and dry,,, caramel, chocolate, nuts, resin, alcohol, black, tan foam, lightly bitter, medium body, creamy, lively, WILLOW HILL HOME BREW CUB . Bottle from a coworker. Pours like a normal stout but with excess carb. Coworker nailed it: "Tastes like a boring soda." Overcarbed, and doesn't have any flavor. Great otherwise!

continuing my review of this style. not liking it. good aroma with faint chocolate, roast and ever so slight chocolate roast. taste is the norm for this stye and the lactose is almost astringent and just doesn’t work for me

pours almost pitch black with a medium sized mocha color head. the aroma is dark roasted malts and lots of sweet milk chocolate. there is also some hints of caramel and brown sugar. the taste is very sweet and similar to aroma. this is an outstanding beer and i recommend giving this one a try.

Rated at BTBF 2012 (Backlog). Black with a large tan head. Aroma is of sweet cream and milk chocolate. Taste is of roasted malt, hershey’s kisses, and vanilla.
