UPDATED: MAR 1, 2012 Very dark brown with a small brown head. Aroma of chocolate and roast. Taste is semi-sweet chocolate and milk with some mild roast flavors. Medium bodied; not a thick stout, but quite good.

Pours a dark brown with tan head. Roasted malt and some coffee on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes with a bit of a sweet roasty note.

Nice average milk stout... sweet with a bitterness. Solid B, but nothing special compared to all the milk stouts out there.

Beerenberger (1563) - Fischer, Texas, USA - FEB 20, 2013
Aroma of milk chocolate and roasted malts. A dark brown pour with a mostly diminishing tan head and no lacing. The taste is roasted malts along with smooth sweet milk chocolate (lactose). Thereís a fizzy hoppy finish. Medium body with medium carbonation. Overall, a very nice sweet stout. Would drink again.

This easy-bodied milk stout is dark brown in color, but somewhat thin in appearance. It has a nose of intense caramel, some burnt caramel, and some hops. Itís very light in body, with roasted malts mid-palate, a semi-bitter roasted finish, and just a little sweetness to glue it all together. Overall, itís not a very sweet milk stout. Itís light and mellow, but a little unbalanced. Why, specifically, a milk stout is named after a Panamanian boat, I have no clue.

Extra from Cloaker. Thanks! Dark slightly translucent brown. Bit of dark malts on the nose, some light coffee on the taste. Not overly sweet. Decent if forgettable.

Bottle. Pours a rich opaque black with a tall, sticky, lacey brown head. Nose is brown sugar, cafe au lait, and vanilla. Prodigious smoke and dark fruit on the front of the tongue, followed by espresso and vanilla. Bourbon on the finish. I like this very much.
