Similar to Guinness.. Less of a coffee taste. Slightly reddish color, kind of cloudy. Good beer.. I would drink it again. Didn't love it, but I did like it. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured up a clear amber with little head that seemed to fade away quickly leaving just a lace. Smells of toasted malts and tastes of toasted malts. very slight hint at the chocolates, so slight it can easily be missed. The hops are bitter and a bit dry. Overall this is a very decent brew that I will probably purchase again.

Bottle:   Deep amber, a bit dirty, moderate frothy off-white head, spotty lacing.   Heavy bready nose, a bit husky and mealy.   Semi-sweet on the tongue, malty, but also mealy.   Low hop, not much zing.   Smooth overall, with a moderate body and mouthfeel.   A little fruity on the backside, minor citrus zest or candied peel.   Decent, but a little too mealy.   Could have used a bit more hop bitterness to balance it out, but otherwise its okay.

Cloudy, golden to amber in color, and has a foamy off white head. A little roasty, a little malts, a little hops, just a little of everything so it does not amount to much .

Clear copper with a white head. Aroma is nutty, caramel, and a little tart. Taste is toast, caramel, and some hop bitterness. Easy to drink.

12 oz. bottle served in a shaker- poured a transparent slightly darkened amber color, white ring around the glass for a head after a few minutes, aroma of hard water and biscuits, ugh. Hits the mouth with a medium body, malt is just slightly sweetened, some hops in the middle, finish is complete. Just a beer, nothing less and nothing more.

UPDATED: NOV 4, 2012 Pours clear mahogany with a small light beige head. Smells biscuity with a touch of caramel. Taste is sweet, malty, with a touch of bitterness in the middle. Light-to-medium bodied with a smooth, wet texture and soft mouth-carbonation, No Label Ridgeback Ale finish with some soft sweetness.

Growler from Whole Foods: Amber honey in color with a thin soapy head. Slight cocoa flavors upfront followed by a pleasing mellow piney bitterness. Almost bordering on Pale Ale territory. Slight toasted nutty malt aroma. Overall, it’s serviceable...

Good to see No Label hanging in there and getting their beers into North Texas. I think their quality is improving and it shows in this one. This one doesn’t stand out, but it is a solid beer that belongs on tap at a Texas craft beer pub.
