3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20 BeerZack (265) - Asheville, North Carolina, USA - MAY 21, 2013
Dark orange, almost amber colored IPA with a huge frothy head that sticks around and laces the glass. Smells of spicy citrusy (lemon) and resiny hops and sweet caramalts. Flavor is right on the nose. Very bitter at first sip, but I quickly acclimated. There is a firm bitterness throughout, but the sweet malts wrap it up and carry it off the palate well. Feels as creamy as it looks.

Bottle. Pours a hazy darkish brown color with a moderate white head. Nose is hoppy with a little bit of floral and citrus notes in there. Taste is a little bitter, but smooth and easy to drink. I like this one very much.

Poured from bomber, much better than the Jet IIPA. Typical IPA color and head blah blah blah. Shit is smooth and tasty.

Draft at Surf Taco. Poured a good looking clear burnt orange with a tight creamy off white head. Aroma some solid vomit odors mixed in with older grapefruit and dry toast. Medium/full body with stronger carbonation and a very bitter dry finish. Flavor is the best part of this beer, some tropical tangerine and lots of yellow grapefruit meat and rind, dry toast. Solid beer but needs better aroma.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 jgb9348 (3964) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - FEB 8, 2013
Bright copper and bronze coloured body with a thinnish, very fast-dying tan head and a nice orange glow. Aroma of caramel, malt, a bit of earthy hops and a little toffee sweetness. Medium-bodied; Dense, malty flavour with a lot of toffee, nut and rich woodsy flavours definitely drowning out the hop notes. Aftertaste shows a good balance of hops and malt, on line with an English Pale Ale, not a West Coast IPA, but it worked fairly well. Overall, a nice and respectable beer, but don’t go in expecting a ton of hops and a lighter malt profile, because you won’t get it here. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Pear Delicatessen in Seattle, Washington on 08-February-2013 for US$4.00 sampled a few minutes later in my hotel room here in Seattle.

22oz bottle. Clearish amber orange with a creamy off white head. Aroma of citrus, pine, biscuit dough and floral. Flavor is balance bitter hops and toasty malt, clean yeast profile with well hidden alcohol. Medium body with average carbonation. Nice beer, has some ESB like qualities with fresh American hops.
