Bred right here in the Fair City, this Expo-sized IPA is made from hops and barley harvested within 300 miles of the No-Li Brewhouse. Washington’s own Cascade, Columbus and Chinook hops span across 2 row malt from Armstrong, BC.

This is a good IPA. I love the reddish amber appearance and light but fresh hop aromas. Some malt on the taste with mild bitter hops on the palate. Solid, but not outstanding.

Bottle pour dark copper. Nose caramel malt and dank and hop, very faint citrus. Taste some bitter up front, then taste similar to nose. Dank and caramel. Some late palate sweet. Moderate bitter finish

Bottle to glass. Pours a slightly hazy deep copper amber color with an off white head. Aroma is moderately bitter, with hints of fleshy fruit, floral, piney hops and a touch of caramel malt. Flavor is somewhat malty sweet, but overpowered by some hoppy bitterness. Light to medium in body with a lingering bitterness. Solid IPA.

22 picked up a few nights ago at Brewer’s Haven in Boise... Enjoyed tonight... Pours a clear orange with a decent enough white head... spotty lacing. Interesting hop profile... good citrus/resinous pine with some earthy notes.... a bit too much residual maltiness for my liking, but still well done. Flavor mirrors the aroma with a nice balance between the bitterness and the pale maltiness... the citrus really blooms as this warms.... a very well balanced brew.

The aroma has a heavy dose of caramel and tangerine combined with other citrus flavors. It is an amber color with a orange hue to it. The head is a fluffy off white. There is a taste of grapefruit, tangerine, and a malty finish.

22 oz. bottle from SoHo Organic Market, Elizabeth City, NC. Muddy brownish-orange pour with a huge frothy off-white head. Aroma of caramel, tangerine, and grapefruit rind. Bitter citrusy hops are the star here with a sturdy malt backbone that lends caramel and brown sugar. There is no indication on the bottle, and I don’t believe this is old store stock, but this has a bit of a barley wine feel to it more than an IPA. I can’t guarantee that is what the brewer intended but the end result is quite good, just not what I anticipated from an IPA.

Deep amber pour. Fresh citrus hop aroma. Flavour has a nice sweet, caramel, almost sherry-like malt base with a nice balance of west coast hops. Good.

Balanced, easy-drinking IPA with a good malt backbone (toast, caramel, light toffee). Its hop side (grass, plants, citrus), however, doesn’t blow me away. Every time I drink this I think, yeah, this is well made and good ... but I yearn for bolder hop flavors and aromas.
