3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 cstuartj (734) - Washington, USA - MAR 19, 2011
Dark cloudily off orange yellow in color, thin head. Nice grassy, hop nose, bit of pine and citrus. Clean bitter hop taste, not as full as I’d like but a good beer.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 brenn79 (1198) - Idaho, USA - AUG 7, 2010
16 oz. draft at the porch- Pours amber golden with minimal head, lacework is good. Aroma has a little malt, a sweet malt not heavy. The flavor does not taste like an IPA, it is mellow, little hops, it tastes good, just not like an IPA should. Did the bar hook up the kegs wrong?
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 poisoneddwarf (1307) - Rathdrum, Idaho, USA - AUG 6, 2010
On tap at The Porch in Hayden, ID. Subdued aromas of caramel malt, some floral notes. Pours a clear copper hue with creamy lace. Taste is slightly sweet with no bitterness. This beer is nothing like an IPA. It’s floral and fruity with some honey; no IPA hallmarks, however. Highly carbonated, medium bodied. What is this thing I’m drinking? Is is truly Northern Lights IPA or did they hook up the wrong keg on accident (maybe a beer they’ve had for awhile that they want to get rid of, the conspiracy theorist in me thinks; or maybe the waitress gave me someone else’s glass perhaps?)? I’m leaning towards NOT Northern Lights IPA, but who knows for sure? There are so many variables that can go wrong when you’re not pouring from a keg you tapped yourself.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 adam42381 (361) - Fort Myers, Florida, USA - JUL 25, 2010
Poured from a 12 ounce bottle into a pint glass.
Appearance: Pours a hazy caramel color with a 2 finger foamy white head. Decent head retention. Minimal lacing throughout.
Smell: Citrus and pine are the dominant aromas but there are hints of caramel and light florals.
Taste: Bitter pine up front followed quickly by semi-sweet citrus flavors. Finishes with citrus rind. Very light bitter aftertaste with a hint of floral sweetness.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied with a decent amount of carbonation. Feels quite wet up front, similar to eating a fresh grapefruit, but finishes dry with a hoppy oiliness.
Drinkability: High drinkability. This one goes down smooth.
Overall: Solid IPA. Not the best I’ve ever had but you can do much worse. I would definitely drink it again.
3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 omhper (17461) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - JUL 19, 2010
Draught at the brewpub. Hazy orange/amber, small head. Strong lychee, grapefruit aroma. Mid sweet with clean mouthfeel. Salty and grainy. Resiny grapefruit dominates, long resiny bitteress. Nicely flavourful bit a bit aggressive.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Chickencoop (188) - California, USA - MAR 11, 2010
Picked this up on a trade, thanks for spreading the word on locals. The pour was amber with a frothy lacing head. Taste was a biting hoppy front that smooths out into a nice malty balance. The hop bitterness carries the whole beer but nothing overwhelming because this is a very crisp and refreshing beer, very drinkable.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 OldMrCrow (1518) - Seattle, Washington, USA - NOV 14, 2009
Tap at Fiddler’s.
This SOB came out of absolutely nowhere to blow my mind. The brewery totally wasn’t on my radar, I ordered expecting yet another ordinary PacNW IPA at best, and then I got this lovely schooner of pineapple-juicy hoppy goodness, bitterness just right, balanced and not too resinous, not overabundance of sugars but fully rich in flavor and mouth. After drinking a couple of others, I followed the lovely Alaskan Barleywine with one last schooner of this; it acquitted itself admirably even on the heels of that monster.
A truly under-appreciated, underrated gem.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 michael-pollack (4962) - King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 23, 2009
Pungent aroma of hops, pine, spruce, evergreen, grapefruit, and light caramel malt. Poured copper/amber in color with a large, dense, off-white head that diminished but lasted throughout. Cloudy. Slightly sparkling. Full of tiny particles throughout. Flavor is medium to heavily bitter. Tastes of hops, pine, spruce, grapefruit, light caramel malts, and a hint of weed. Medium body. Dry texture. Average carbonation. Hoppy, pine, light caramel malt finish is dry. Wish I knew what the ABV is.
