This big, bold copper-colored ale showcases Munich & Crystal malts to create a big supportive body on which we layer our favorite Washington hops. Chinook & Cascade provide citrus and piney flavors, while Northern Brewer adds a hint of mint. Dry-hopping with Cascade and Columbus increases the beer’s hoppy aromas. Malt, hops and yeast-derived fruitiness combine to create our most complex offering.

Serving: bottle from State Line Liquors. It pours an almost cloudy dark amber with a thin off white ring for a head. Slightly minty and herbal nose with some toasted malt. The flavor leads with the hops but gives way to a heavy dose of sweet toasted dark bread and then back to the a minty hop finish. Rather full bodied.

Lagerboy (1933) - British Columbia, CANADA - OCT 15, 2014
Bomber. Opaque brownish orange, firmer tan foam settles and mostly lasts. Citrus pine hop aroma. Taste is well malted, rich bold caramel/tofffee, aggressively hopped, more citrus, evergreen and floral, some herbs and spice, earthy. Average carbonation, medium-full bodied. Leaning towards Impy status. NFL (Not For Lagerboys)

Bomber from BC Liquor store in North Burnaby. A nice medium reddish amber beer with moderate beige head. A nice concoction of fruit, bitter piney citrus hop and gentle malt background. Body is medium. Finish is long and bitter. 3.6.

22 oz bottle from Fred Meyer in Hillsboro, OR. Aroma is grassy and piney, with hints of barnyard, resin, and isopropyl alcohol. Mouthfeel starts crisp, thick, sweet, and bitter, but quickly switches to a long, dry, and bitter finish. Not as amazing as I thought I remembered this one being, but still pretty great.

Hazed orange pour with clinging white head and lace. Large resiny hops dominate the nose. Semi sweet malt forward flavor with a good finishing bitter. Medium body with smooth carbonation. Solid just a little more bitter than malt.

Bottle from GBBF 2014. Poured a clear ruby, with a dense white head. Aroma of grapefruit, brown sugar and rich fruit. Pine needles in the flavour, with some grain and bitter peal. Finish was big, bitter resin, chewy malt and tinned fruit.

650ml bomber pours a pale amber color with a finger and a half of white head that leaves some decent lacing on the glass. Aroma is grapefruit and pine with some hints of caramel. Taste is a bold grapefruit and pine hop bitterness balanced nicely with a big caramel malty sweetness. Medium bodied with decent carbonation. A well balanced flavorful IPA that I recommend to others.

Bottle shared on the 76 year old drinking shelf thanks to James F, IOW Jolly Day, 24/08/14. Clear golden amber with a well appointed light beige covering. Nose is pine, caramel malt, bitter hops, orange pith, tangerine, sprucey wood. Taste comprises pine, bitter orange, straw, grapefruit, nice piney streak. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi aggressive hop bitterness in the close. Decent enough IPA.

SlackerMads (2866) - DENMARK - SEP 7, 2014
Bottle. Light hazy orange with a small off white head. Citrus, cheese, honey, flowery, caramel, light toffee. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation, medium sweet and bitter. Light dry and bitter finish with citrus notes. Drinkable but not overly interesting.

Sparkling clear copper with thin head. Aroma is malt-forward with lots of toffee, cereal. Hops are mostly about bitterness rather than aroma. They do contribute some pine and resin that linger in the finish. Almost like an "american strong ale" in a lot of ways. Bracingly bitter.
