This big, bold copper-colored ale showcases Munich & Crystal malts to create a big supportive body on which we layer our favorite Washington hops. Chinook & Cascade provide citrus and piney flavors, while Northern Brewer adds a hint of mint. Dry-hopping with Cascade and Columbus increases the beer’s hoppy aromas. Malt, hops and yeast-derived fruitiness combine to create our most complex offering.

@ Whole Foods Market / Asheville NC --- In a tall Pilsner glass. Good aroma of malt and hops. Slightly cloudy dark amber, 3" off-white head that stays a long time, bands of lace. Taste is caramel malt and toast that grows through the palate, revealing good medium citrus hops on the swallow. Malt reappears in time to join the bitters through a long finish. Not a huge taste, but, oh my, what a superb balance. Great with cheese and crackers. High recommendations.

Best IPA that I’ve had in a long time. A nice malty backbone leaves a sweet aftertaste and gives it a great finish. Big, hoppy, pine aromas dominate the nose.

Robert brought this one back from a trip to Washington. +++ Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a cloudy orange-caramel color with a medium sized foamy off white head that left a bit of lacing. The aroma was bitter, tart and piney with notes of orange and other vague fruity hops. The flavor was bitter and tangy orange, pine and pepper. Long bitter and tangy orange, pine and pepper finish. Moderately full bodied. Solid.

Hazy orange-amber, white head, decent retention and lace. Aroma is light fruity esters, grainy sweetness, pine, resin, c-hop citrus. Flavor starts sharp, resiny, and piney, leading to a round doughy sweetness, followed by toasted grain and a long, grapefruit rind/resiny bitterness. Oily texture, lighter bodied for style. A really nice classic expression of a west coast IPA with moderate-high bitterness and c-hop character taking center stage. However, it could be a little more unique.

22oz bottle, blue label. Deep copper color. Loads of sweet toasted malts, deep caramels, earthy C-note hops. Toasted malt flavor, sweet malt, caramel, citrus oils & pine notes hops. Tastes like the PNW. (3980)

On tap. Pours a dark amber with moderate head. Aromas of toffee and pine. Flavors are same with a bit of fruit and a light floral note. Slightly sweet with a short bitter finish. Quite pleasant.

This is a good IPA. I love the reddish amber appearance and light but fresh hop aromas. Some malt on the taste with mild bitter hops on the palate. Solid, but not outstanding.

Bottle pour dark copper. Nose caramel malt and dank and hop, very faint citrus. Taste some bitter up front, then taste similar to nose. Dank and caramel. Some late palate sweet. Moderate bitter finish

Bottle to glass. Pours a slightly hazy deep copper amber color with an off white head. Aroma is moderately bitter, with hints of fleshy fruit, floral, piney hops and a touch of caramel malt. Flavor is somewhat malty sweet, but overpowered by some hoppy bitterness. Light to medium in body with a lingering bitterness. Solid IPA.

22 picked up a few nights ago at Brewer’s Haven in Boise... Enjoyed tonight... Pours a clear orange with a decent enough white head... spotty lacing. Interesting hop profile... good citrus/resinous pine with some earthy notes.... a bit too much residual maltiness for my liking, but still well done. Flavor mirrors the aroma with a nice balance between the bitterness and the pale maltiness... the citrus really blooms as this warms.... a very well balanced brew.
