An intriguing spin cycle of English, German and American brewing techniques, Spin Cycle Red is a celebration of the classic English-style ESB. The perfect balance of malt and hops create an enjoyable and quaffable red ale. Spin Cycleís specialty malts combine to provide an aroma of lightly toasted bread and caramel, while additions of American Noble hops add an herbal flavor for balance.

Bottle from Systembolaget. Pours hazy reddish brown with a beige-white thick head that slowly settled to a nice layer of scum throuout the session. Iíd call the beer color mahogany hadnít it been for the haziness of the beer. Iíd give it a 4 in appearance but the foam head pulls it up to a 5:er. The aroma is a lovely mix of crystal malts, maybe some melanoidin/aromatic malts as well, and some piney hops. The taste takes the aroma impression up one more level. The beer is sweet from the crystal malts, and I guess some roasted malts are souring it somewhat. The balance from the hoppy bitterness comes in the second wave, but they are thankfully not overwhelming, backing up the sweetness rather than taking over. The texture is so soft, itís delicious, and the beer reminds me of a belgian brune, albeit a bit lower in alcohol and with a less expressive yeast. Itís simply a wonderful beer of itsí type. Good work!

Nicely crafted ESB, bitter with some sweet, syrupy malt in the background. Nice lasting velvety head on a medium amber body. Sweet aroma, bitter taste. Very enjoyable.

I had this beer under itís pseudonym "Crystal Bitter ESB". Reddish amber brown in color with light tan head, medium collar, good lacing and wisps. Aroma is caramel malts and earthy hops. Taste is too bitter for a bitter in my opinion. I get some earthy hoppiness, burnt caramel, and wet wood. Medium body and medium carbonation as well.

On tap @ The Cask. Pours dark reddish caramel with thin off white head. Aroma is sweet roasty caramel malt. Taste is big dark roasty carame malt, clean aftertaste. Nothing remarkable, but solid malty beer. Plenty of flavor for a red ale.

22 oz bottle from Uptown Market in Beaverton, OR. Aroma for me has notes of biscuit with a bit of brown sugar. As the beer warmed up, I found a hint of barnyard. Taste is mildly sweet and malty throughout and finishes bitter. Long biscuity and bitter aftertaste. This red is definitely an ESB/Bitter, instead of an Amber, Strong Ale, or IPA. Not bad, but not a favorite.

Pours a clear dark copper color with a big beige head and good lacing. .Nose is malts - very clean and there are floral hops. Medium plus body. The flavor is floral hops on a clean malt backbone. This finish is bitter, and very favorable which sets it apart from many ESBs. Really good
