Bomber from Malt & Vine. Pours hazy copper with a foamy/creamy near-white head. Aroma is very hoppy, but it’s not harsh resin or citrus. Sort of mixed floral/citrus over a light, pleasant caramel backdrop. Near full bodied. Flavor is very hoppy - there’s hop burn. Still it seems floral and citrus. Amazing amount of hop here. Not even noticing the malt til I think about it. Suddenly I get light pitted fruit - apricot. Amazing. (that’s twice for that word). This finishes smoothly and hugely bitter. Extremely pleasant to drink.

Bottle @ home, picked up at Wilbur’s Foco. Pours a touch hazy, dark copper appearance with an off white head. Spicy, slightly vinous, pear, lemon, grapefruity aroma. Chewy, tangy lemon, grapefruity, light caramel, a bit juicy, bitter flavor. Not all that great. Not sure what Ratman was drinking but it does’nt sound like what I had.

22. Pours a slightly hazy medium amber with a thin, loose tannish head and plenty of sedimentary rings of lace. Orange peels and grapefruit on the nose, along with some caramel. Creamy medium body with soft carb. Toast, caramel, and grapefruit on the mid palate, with a big piney wash at the end. Nice oily effect on the finish, but other than that, just another well-made DIPA. Doesn’t stand out too much from the crowd good or bad, but worth a glassful for sure.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 drowland (4994) - Jacksonville, Florida, USA - APR 14, 2013
4/14/13. Bomber thanks to LOL bitbucket. WBW before OTL weight loss challenge tomorrow. Hazy orange pour with a small white head. Lots of yeast in the bottom of the bottle, beware floaties. Malty aroma and flavor, pale malts, biscuits, and a touch of caramel, with earthy, musty hops, and black tea. Meh.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 5000 (4974) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - NOV 22, 2012
Bottle: Amberish, slight haze, thin to moderate sudsy white head, little lacing. Assorted citrusy background on the nose, pith, citrus peel, and even a slight candied orange. A bit more tea like on the tongue, citrus aspects are a bit more muted. A touch musty, doesn’t come across as bright on the tongue. Seems a bit astringent or green on the backside. Body and mouthfeel are moderate. Finishes like a 1½ IPA, and a bit young at that. Not bad, not too hoppy, malty, or overly bright in any aspect. Seems like a slightly unfinished uber IPA.
