COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
If a tall pine falls in the Palouse and no one is there to hear it… Quietly brewed since 1993 and renamed in 2012 after another brewery gave us the silent treatment over a trademark issue with “Northern Lights,” this Spokane-style Pale lets its generous malt base and imposing use of Cluster and Cascade hops do the talking… No-Lie.

I had a bottle gusher. Lost a good amount of beer before I got it in the glass. After that it had a huge head. Decent pale ale, but nothing that struck me as out of the ordinary.

Fast becoming my favorite Washington brewery. Another outstanding addition to their lineup, hits all the right notes or an APA, remaining smooth and highly drinkable. A perfect accompaniment to almost any kind of food.

From 22oz bottle to shaker. Pour is a nice yellow with a thick and creamy white head. Nose is light hops, floral, line. Taste is bitter, light bodied. Finishes pretty sharp and smooth. See what they're doing here with the session aspect, just not my style. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

All is not well here. Doesn’t really come together and tastes a little off. Pours cloudy blonde with ok head and lacing. Fizzy carbonation. Some mash malt and finishes with light sourness without sense of hops. Tap at DC Beer festival.

22oz bottle, from my local Kroger. Shared with b3shine. Hazy amber orange color. Good off-white head. Some splotches of lace. Medium plus body. Smooth, soft, lighter carbonation. Dry finish. Light caramel malt, kind of spicy. Earthy hop. Moderate sweet taste, moderate bitter... Very dry finish. OK pale ale, for me... A light soapy nose, but the flavor is alright. Nice moderate hoppiness to it. Not worth bomber price, though.

Bomber to snifter (shared by DrSilverworm). Looks good; a translucent orange with foamy eggshell head. Smells of mildly bitter hops with a medium-bodied pale malt backbone. Tastes like it smells, but with a significantly juicier hop profile and a nice, dry mouthfeel. Enjoyable.

Reviewed from notes. Too bad this is now retired as this was one of the better offerings by No-Li. The appearance had a hazy golden copper colored body with a one and a half finger white foamy and bubbly head that quickly dies within less than a half a minute, lacing is clingy somewhat thick and all over the place. The smell had a deep citrusy pine hops, and an adequate amount of caramel maltiness to back it up. The taste had a bittersweetness combined together very well, slight citrus aftertaste and sticky dry finish. On the palate, it sat at/about a light to borderline medium, sessionable and very worthy of having with food. The carbonation is good for the style and for me as there’s a slight harshness for an APA, but still not overly done. Overall, this was a very well done APA that I would have again if ever brought out of retirement.

@ Whole Foods Market / Asheville NC --- Hazy orange amber with a big 2" frothy head that doesn’t go away, stripes and blobs of lace. Aroma is brisk, appetizing wheat and citrus. Taste is caramel malt and grass that blooms in the palate, lasting well into the finish before yielding to bitter citrus in the finish, basically on the swallow. A solid contender for "food" beer, easy to drink, enjoyable. Recommended.

A decent pale ale. Malty and a nice hoppy flavor to balance. Medium orange amber with a terrific lasting white head. Never heard of this brewer. Interested to try their other offerings

22oz bottle, green label. Very cloudy, lots of floaties, orange color. Fruity aroma, loads of citrus. Clean flavor, crisp taste. Nice pale grains, simple hops. Finishes with citrus zest flavor and a touch of pine bitterness. (3979)
