Small off-white head atop clear dark amber body. Aroma is moderately sweet, grapefruit, caramel, some pine, light cherry. Taste is moderately sweet, grapefruit/pine, caramel, light cherry. Medium body, some resin, light acidity. Quite hoppy, which really isn’t a characteristic of a winter warmer. Tasty though.

Bomber from Malt & Vine. Pours rather hazy blood orange with a large beige head. Strong aromas of fruit and resin. Full bodied with creamy carbonation. Flavor is lots of grapefruit rind and resin over a lot of light roast malt. This is a mouth grabber. Excellent IPA.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
bottle. lightly hazed dark amber body. thick, patchy dough-colored head. juicy sweet maraschino cherry red malt and juicy / resinous american hop nose. lightly toasty, hugely sweet, highly bitter, medium-full body, lasting hop acids and a pleasant doughy mushiness late. admittedly enjoyable to drink, the texture is quite nice, though I don’t care for the sweet red apple and maraschino cherry flavor so much. I find myself liking it about as much as their Crystal Bitter, which had more caramel malt than I usually like, but a nice roundness and fullness of texture to make it enjoyable. this one just seems a little too brutish and a little too sweet up front.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Head is initially average sized, frothy, light brown, mostly lasting.
Body is dark amber.
Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (caramel, cookie, cake), lightly to moderately hoppy (grapefruit, apricot), with light notes of alcohol (fusel - Lysol / bug spray), plastic.
Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter, slightly unclean.
Medium to full body, velvety/creamy/syrupy texture, lively carbonation, lightly to moderately alcoholic.
Just like all the other No-Li brews I’ve had so far...looks great, has a nice mouthfeel and flavor balance, but it fails to evoke an enjoyable aroma. Alas, though, in this example there are unpleasant off-notes that not only mar the aroma but the aftertaste as well. Has promise, but needs cleaning up.
