Really damn strong, and it had a good flavor. For some reason, though, something just isn’t perfectly right.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap. Pours a murky black with moderate tan head. Aromas of creamy chocolate and roasted malts. Flavors of rich chocolate, vanilla, creamed coffee and heavily roasted malt. Thick, dry finish. Nice.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
A nice stout overall. Pours a super thick black with a creamy tan head. Smells lightly of cinnamon, milk, chocolate and baked bread. Taste is very thick, almost milk shake like, with some chocolate, cream, and a sizzling thyme in the finish. A nice boozy warmth in the aftertaste. Had in the bottle.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap @ the brewery, our twelfth and final brewery on TvM’s Bachelor Party NW Ale Trail Expedition. Near black body, flavours of chocolate liqueur and black burnt malts, maybe some underlying cherry fruit. Big bitter finish. Perhaps a bit sweet for an impy, but I liked it.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
2015-03-04. Very dark brown-black body with a nice tan head. 4+ Aroma is tangy, with notes of brown sugar and touches of cocoa. Flavour is sweet, lightly tangy with notes of brown sugar. Very light cocoa and roast, lingering tangy sugar and alcohol. Light herbal licorice hints? Smooth medium plus bodied palate, soft carbonation. Enjoyable, but a touch odd and not quite what I usually look for in an imperial stout. On tap at Pizzeria Paradiso Dupont Circle, Washington DC.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured from a 12. Aroma is a bit dry and chalky. Flavor has a bitter/astringent bite at first. After the beer warms it smooths out a bit and has a dark chocolate and grainy flavor to it. Finishes a bit creamy.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
(Bottle) Not bad. A fairly decent imperial stout with a little extra bitterness. But, it’s nothing too special either.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Beer #7 of 13 in blind tasting.
This to me was the most boring and average in the tasting. I actually guessed this correctly, the only one I was correct on. Bitter malt present. Not particularly "rich" or hoppy or anything.
In the aggregate it fell 2nd to worst, moderately-strongly below average.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Imperial stout blind tasting, sample 7 of 13. Note: bearing in mind the comments on this, I will rerate this one very soon to better comment. Beautiful thick black pour; khaki head. Maybe my palate is dying, because this is strangely sulfur, roast, floral and herbal. Palate fatigue setting in I think, time for a break.
