Really damn strong, and it had a good flavor. For some reason, though, something just isn’t perfectly right.

12 oz. Dark dark brown with chocolate head. My bottle says 100 ibu not 35, and it shows. A beast of a beer, but wonderfully balanced. Full bodied. Hops, deep roast, bitter chocolate, raisins. This one is actually surprising me a bit. Light coffee licorice and char in the bittersweet finish as well. Wrecking Ball is an appropriate name. Underrated

Bottle at GBBF 2014. It pours near black with a small tan head. The nose is rich roast, cocoa, vanilla, dried fruits, candy, mild spice and toffee. The taste is rich roast, earth, cocoa, wood, decent bitterness, fudge, dark chocolate, warming alcohol and dirt with a dry, woody finish. Fullish body and fine carbonation. Decent impy.

Total Wine, Delaware 12ounce: Pours black with a light brown head. Aroma is coffee, dark chocolate, booze, and plenty of roast. Taste is not all that bitter, nor is it particularly sweet. It is rather very roasty and full of coffee flavors. Rich chocolate taste abounds. Alcohol well covered, but it is certainly noticeable. Body is pretty heavy.

22 ounce bottle into snifter, no bottle dating. Pours fairly pitch black color with a 2 finger dense tan head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with some a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, roasted malt, toast, dark bread, molasses, light char/smoke, raisin, plum, herbal, grass, light pine, and herbal/roasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good complexity and balance of dark/roasted/bready malt, earthy hops, and light-moderate fruity yeast notes; with solid strength. Taste of big dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, roasted malt, toast, dark bread, molasses, light char/smoke, raisin, plum, herbal, grass, light pine, and herbal/roasted earthiness. Fair amount of pine/roasted bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, roast, toast, dark bread, molasses, light smoke, raisin, plum, herbal, light pine, and herbal/roasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity and robustness of dark/roasted/bready malt, earthy hops, and light-moderate yeast fruitiness; with a great roasted malt bitterness/sweetness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth and moderately creamy/chalky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with only a slight warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice imperial stout. All around good balance, robustness, and complexity of dark/roast/bready malt, earthy hops, and light yeast fruitiness; and very smooth to sip on for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.

Un hommage à Miley Cirus que ce Wreking Ball. Une bière brune foncée avec une mousse beige. Un nez simple sans complexité de chocolat. Une bouche de chocolat amère, très amère. La texture est correcte. Le reste est histoire d’amertume.

On Tap at the Boise PreFunk Deep muddy dark brown in the tulip Thin but creamy light tan head. Soft coffee and mostly chocloately light roast flavors. Some ABV notes in there as well. Smooth feel, soft carbonation and a mild roasted flavor. Maybe under bittered but it is an easy stout overall and not a harsh bitter monster like others. Sneaky 9.5%

from the bomber: it’s almost completely opaque, chocolate brown with thick, lush, dark tan foam. The aroma is smokey, boozy, sweet, dark chocolate, leather, coffee. It tastes intensely, bitter sweet, chocolate, caramel with some dark, syrupy fruit notes, like currant, apricot, or cherry. It’s syrupy, slick, and thick. Quite lovely.

Poured from a bottle into a snifter a darkest brown with a thick tan head. Aroma of roasted cocoa sweetness. Flavor is molasses brown sugared dark bittered chocolate. Raisins prunes. Consistency is thick & balanced to the palate. Way better than just an average imperial stout. Will definitely get another bottle to enjoy down the road.
