Can from Lidl in Sønderborg. Pours clear pale golden with airy, quickly disappearing white head. Faint aroma of yeast and hops. Faint, bitter, sourish flavour of hops and yeast. Paperlike finish. This liquid does not taste or smell of much. What is the point of calling it beer, even less of drinking it?

Can from Lidl at the Brussels end of Antwerpen Centraal, consumed on the train leaving Rotterdam en route to Borefts ’13, 27/09/13. Couldn’t be arsed dirtying my glass for this one so straight from the can, however I did ensure some rimming action in order to ascertain the colouration ... surprise surprise pale blonde with (using imagination and experience) a frothy white head! Nose is pale malts, grass, cereals, corn. Taste comprises corn, pale malts, popcorn, light caramel. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, grassy bitterness in the finish. As a cheap supermarket can not too bad tbh! Longish rating for a 2.2 canned affair due to the tedious train journey between Rotterdam and Woerden.

80c 500ml tin in Kamari from a proprietor buying up his stock in from Lidl and selling it on for a mark up. Such is the nature of the world these days. Saw this off on the balcony with olives, capers, stale bread, leathered sliced cheese, Geisha sardinas and a tumbler of grapes (?). The joys of SC. Pale yellow with a subsiding but not vanishing fluff of head. Decent aroma of grass, slight pine, lemon jelly, a little glue at the edges. Pine and olive soap-like flavour with marzipan and wheaty cereal notes; some citronella candlewax. Bitterness to finish but chemical, without hop flavour. Drinkable- for which I’m grateful. My standards are relaxing by the day.

Iskold boks fra kjøleskabet, efter sykkeltur t/r IKEA Gentofte i 28 varmegrader: stor forfriskningsevne når man svett pøser den ned før dusjen kaller. Ut over det er den gått i glemmeboken.

Foam high thick vanilla-white, lasting, which germans like. Colour average and carbonation good. Aroma close to duftlos. Taste is weak, of hops, malts and some water and an undefinite sour droplet. Aftertaste various herbs, hops, maybe black pepper, shortlived. This beer is under average, but costed 5,50dkk only at Lidl Middelfart Denmark. One can say it gave value for the money, but not the time.

Clear and pale body with a white head. Nose is earthy with some herbal notes. Taste is surprisingly dry with a fairly long bitter aftertaste. Carbonation is average with lots of small bubbles.

500 ml can, from Lidl, Ikast. ABV is 4.6%. Pale golden colour, moderate white head. Sweetish aroma with grassy notes. Thin body. The flavour is fairly sweet for a pilsener, while the finish is metallic and medium bitter. Not undrinkable, but utterly forgettable.

Can 33 cl. Clear pale yellow with a white head. Malty aroma. Medium body, some malts and an extreme metallic tang. Dry, lightly bitter finish. Bulk lager with nothing special to comment.
