Citra is our first choice for our new Double IPA series that showcases our favorite hop varieties, one by one, with each consecutive release. This hop bursts with juicy layers of mango, lemongrass, and grapefruit. Look forward to many upcoming releases within this series of single hopped Double IPAs.

22 oz bottle courtesy of an extra via trade. Awesome. Pours a glowing golden amber hue, gentle haziness, orange amber glow is strong with brighter white cakey head, small layer sits atop and laces ok. Good crown with lively carbonation streaming through the body. Aromas are potent and evident from first pour, bigger juicy fruit Citra hops shows tropical fruit, mango, and grapefruit and oranges. Some bready malt, straw, and cleaner malt bill. Florals, firmer bitterness with some green leafy hop spice. Bigger bursting fruity Citra life, pretty fresh and vibrant. Initial is mediuum bodied, big juicy tropical fruit, melon and mangos. Some bubblegum, grapefruit and florals. Lively juicy fruit flavors with bread, florals and soapy bitterness. The sweetness is fruity, hop derived while the malt base still remains fairly tame, cleaner and crisp comparitively for a DIPA. Dry, bitter backend shows some spiciness, florals and a bit of warmth. Nice hop character and presence. Fresh, flavorful, and fruity. Some bubblegum like flashes at times but the maltbase isnít the big brute that would ruin a beer like this. Well constructed, fresh exciting hop profile. Good stuff. Perhaps a touch thin overall, but that makes it pretty damn drinkable.

UPDATED: OCT 27, 2014 Bottle: thanks, Jason! Bright, yet super-hazy sunshine, burnt-yellow body with a barely off-white head that fades in moments to nothing but a bubbly skin. Aroma supplies an amazing blast of Citra hops; lupulin oils, oranges, grapefruit, passion fruit, juicy pineapple, with hints of grass & green onion. You get a beautiful combo of citric & tropical notes with a great blend of raw hop greenery. Taste is very crisp, dripping with wet citrus peels, pineapple flesh, brash pines, mango, passion fruit, orange peel... Wow. Lots of hop oils abound with a sharp, grassy finish that leaves your mouth rather dry. Who the hell is Noble Ale Works? If they keep putting out beers of this quality... well, you better get to know them. Great DIPA for Citra hop lovers.

Bottle: The aroma consists of dark citrus, tangerine, tropical fruits, grapefruit, and a touch of pine. It pours a mostly transparent golden-orange with a touch of haze. It has a small white head that quickly fades to a soapy ring around the edges of the glass. There is some thin webbing left on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with a quick dose citrus and tropical fruits. The finish has moderate grapefruit, lemon, dank notes, and pine. Itís light-medium bodied with light-moderate carbonation. Overall, if you like Citra hops, youíll love this.

Poured from 22oz bottle. Pours dark golden in color with slightly hazy look and thick creamy white head. Aroma is a citra shit storm of awesomeness. Some mango, papaya and grapefruit in there too. Taste is a hop bomb, loads of dankness and a nice bitterness in the back end. Super tasty.

22 oz. bottle shared by Chris- thanks again, Chris! Pours a cloudy gold color with a small white head. Aroma of citrus and tropical fruits, florals, a bit of dank piss, and some sweet malts. The flavor hits the same notes, but is more intensely bitter and showcases more of a floral, citrus peel character. Light-medium bodiied, with a bitter, juicy mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Good citra DIPA, maybe not as tropical-leaning as others Iíve had.

Bomber thanks to dogday. Pours hazy gold with a big fluffy head that fades very slowly, leaves nice oily webbing. Awesome dank citra hop aroma. Mango, kiwi, grapefruit, tangerines, and pine. Taste is almost as good as the aroma. Juicy citrus, pine, mango, pineapple, and grapefruit. A touch perfumy in the finish. Fairly dry. Soft and slightly foamy carbonation. Very good DIPA but Iím also a huge sucker for citra hops.

Mango, bitter and sweet citrus, with a hefty nectary sweetness. Pretty good, however I think the single-hop doesnít work as well in such a big beer as having such a large malt presence invites more hop complexity to match. Additionally, i got intermittent light flashes of a buttery quality which could possibly be diacetyl.

Poured from the bomber it has a golden orange color with a nice head. The aroma is bursting with tropical fruits like mangos, apricots and grapefruits. There is also some nice grassy notes. The taste is fantastic, great balance. Pine and straw upfront, almost Pliny like. The citrus jumps in right away with pineapple, mango and some orange. The malt is just enough to provide a great finish. Great beer.

On tap @ Noble Ale Works. Hazed golden orange pour with a white head. Amazingly fruity aroma. Tons of pineapple, grapefruit, and mango. Dank! Big time pine, too. Flavor is bitter, resinous, and piney. Intense pineapple and mango tropical fruit notes. Some grapefruit peel and pulp. Really good.

Bottle as an extra sent to me by Heatwaves - thanks Nick!! What a treat. Long day at work, needed a little hoppy pick up and this did the trick in spades. Nice white head and lacing, slightly hazy golden pour. Beautiful nose - grapefruit and tropical notes. Citrus strong taste with some nice hop character and malt backbone. Impressive!
