COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed in the west coast IPA style, this IPA is highly hopped with a full body. Essence of citrus grapefruit with a floral/piney nose.

Note: last brewed in 2012. If you are rating the IPA from Noble Ale Works, it is most likely Big Whig IPA (unless you have a bottle that looks like the photo).

Cloudy golden color; small creamy head. The hop aroma is a bit sweaty and resiny. The mouthfeel is smooth, dry; some toffee flavor; strong bitterness. Not impressive.

This IPA made me sit up and take notice. Really big bouquet on this. Loads of citrus here. Bitterness hits you but doesnt take over. Just a strong West Coast hop bomb.

March 4, 2011 - with blankboy, garthicus, gregclow, jerc and mabel: my 22oz bottle. Slightly hazy amber with a nice large frothy off-white head. Somewhat dry and leafy aroma, some citrus and resin, no alcohol or sweetness on the nose to speak of. Tastes of citrus zest, leafy dry bitterness, some sweetness and alcohol - pleasant, if unmemorable. Average body, lightly astringent, good carbonation, a fairly long leafy back-palate bitter dry finish.

Very fruity and citrusy aroma but not a lot of head. A nice hop bite and a very good finish. Pretty darn tasty, just the right amount of sweetness at the end. Yum. Surprisingly enjoyed this the most of the three IPAs.

5/29/12 notes: Draft. Dark Orange color, Citrusy nose, chewy but clean body. Lasting pithy finish, good aggressive balance.

Floral hops with some grass coming through on the nose. Deep copper color with a two finger foam top. Nice balance of malt and bitter hops. The two work well with each other, leading up to a subtle boozey finish. Carbonation is noticeable with a medium body. Overall, a standard IPA with a nice balance of malt, hops and alcohol. Id give this a B rating.
