Nelson Sauvin, a hop varietal grown out of New Zealand, is the featured hop in this single-hop Double IPA. Our second release in our Double IPA series that showcases our favorite hop varieties, one by one, with each consecutive release. This hop is a mind bender with flavors of Sauvignon Blanc, gooseberries, truffle and allspice.

Poured from a bomber it has a golden yellow cold with a medium head. Aroma is pine, citrus and floral notes. Taste had a strong apricot and lemon flavor with some pine on the end. Nice finish.

Bottle thanks to Womencantsale. Pours a hazy, almost murkey orange color with medium to large white head, somewhat rocky. Slightly spicy nose, with some slight mango and papaya. Fruitiness from the hops comes through in the flavor with a bitter but not pithy finish, definitely drying. No signs of the 8.8% abv. While this is a solid, well made beer, I feel the hops are just underwhelming, and I donít think itís the recipe. I think I am just growing tired of Nelson hops.

Bomber. Huge thanks to Jason for meeting me IP and trade me his last bottle. Pours a hazy gold with a hug foamy head that fades slowly and leave some soapy lacing. Aroma has a lot going on. White grapes, kiwi, mango, wet leaves, juicy grapefruit, and orange peel. Taste has a strong white grape and wine flavor. Underneath is tropical fruit, citrus, biscuits and wet leaves. Light sweetness up front and moderate bitterness in the finish. Like most nelson IPAís, this is way too easy drink, especially at 8.8%.

This beer pours a golden color that resembles the color of a white wine. It has a slight orange blush on it and hues of gold. A fat white head of tight foam that clings to the glass and leaves plenty of lace. Nose is bright sweet white grapes. Earthy grape skin and something sweet and green that you just canít place and thatís gooseberry. It has a dry biscuit for malt on the nose that promises a touch of sweetness. There s nice herbal to the nose that gives sweet grass, some lemon grass and a bit of spice. as this warms in the glass it becomes a bit tropical.

Taste is brilliant. It has a light sweetness, a musky sweetness from the white grape, a husky earthy herbal with grass and lemon grass and spice plus a bit of light dry biscuit. Right in the middle of the beer there is a flash of bright acidity like a fruity white wine, and it finishes dry with a nice hop bitter that does not outlast the aftertaste. The mouthfeel is moderate or medium with some sticky resin to coat the palate. That malt is stronger than you ever imagined and that together with the forward herbal makes this a unique and innovative beer .

I loved this and I can only say thanks JayORear for sending me a beer I would never see here in upstate new york.

Bottle: Thanks, Jason! Cloudy, representing shades of yellow, orange, & amber all over with a foamy white film & collar clinging to the glass. Aroma has notes of wet grass, weeds, mushy orange, juicy citrus flesh, faint white pepper, zesty mango, light white grape-y notes, & a little bit of dank mary jane in the finish. Nice & crisp up front with that "freshly cut lawn" grassiness that I love. Big fruity presence as well; orange peel, grapefruit, light tropical notes, & perhaps a touch of grape & passion fruit. Lots going on. Mild green onion, white pepper, ashy leaves & resin with a barely noticeable bready & biscuit-y malt base... Well attenuated, finishes nice & dry. Wow! Another great DIPA fron Noble Ale Works. I think I preferred Citra Showers just by a hair, but this was a great DIPA nonetheless.

Lightly hazy orange body, thick white head, dense lacing. Mango, passion fruit, sauvignon blanc grapes, just a hint of grass. Medium bodied, minimal malt sweetness, moderate bitterness--the focus is solely on the bright and refreshing hop notes. Really enjoyed this.

Very tasty beer. Slightly hazy gold with a nice head. Spicy, sprucy, peppery and citrusy, with some aspects of orange rind and earthy garlic/onion. Fruity alcohol blends in well. Malt side has some caramel and bread flavors. Good stuff.

Pours clear, tinted orange. Huge nose, white wine grape, sticky pine, tons of tropical fruit (mango, papaya, passion fruit). Minimal malt body. The hops are showcased beautifully. Tons more passion fruit, dankness and a hint of pine. Excellent.

On draft at the brewery. Semi cloudy orange pour, with a white head and lacing. Tasty nelson hops, mango, melon, grapefruit, high bitterness, dry bready malt backbone, notes of fruity sweetness, and pine. I would get this again.

Pours a hazy orange with a nice head. Aroma is of mango's and orange's. Taste is sweet with a nice hop profile. Is a great beer and I hope to get a few every month. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
