MiP (8793), Sønderborg, Denmark Feb 5, 2007 Bottle, 5.9%. Metallic aroma. Clear brown colour, quite stable head. Weak bready aroma, not unpleasant. Low bitterness, not much flavour. Quite boring, a bit like cheap lager with a bit of colour. Oakes (8058), gone rambling, Vietnam Sep 23, 2000 Like a big brother to Dos Equis. Still, you’d like to see it be a little better than it really is. argo0 (6861), Washington DC, USA Dec 5, 2004 Updated: Jan 29, 2006(1/29/06, 12oz bottle, vintage 2005) Crystal clear copper body with medium beige head. Aroma of toasted malts, caramel and some hops. Smooth flavour of sweet malts, good hoppy bitterness, and hints of nuts. A nice long bit sweet dry aftertaste. This Cerveza Especial sure is special and in my opinion the very best mass produced beer in Mexico. The flower on the label is a "poinsettia". It turns red around winter time. bu11zeye (5430), Frisco, Texas, USA May 20, 2005 (Bottle) Pours a dark amber body with a spare white head. Aroma of caramel, metallic, and alcohol. Flavor of caramel malt with a funky metallic aftertaste. Cornfield (4892), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA Jan 15, 2007 Pouring from a 2006 bottle, this has a deeb amber body and a white halo in lieu of a head. The aroma is very caramelly with a smattering of candy corn. The two blend in the flavor into something that’s just a bit too sweet for my tastes. The finish is thick and candy sweet.

JPDIPSO (4865), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA Apr 15, 2002 Actually a decent vienna. I bit dark for the style in a deep amber brown color with a thick tan head. Smooth feel with both a munich malt sweetness and a dry hoppy finish. Lubiere (4463), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Nov 1, 2006 Reddish dark maber with a quickly dissipating light moka head. Light caramel aroma. In mouth, a light nutty caramel malt with, lightly oily mouthfeel, rather thin and short in mouth. A summer vienna for the beach. Gracias Raul.
