A bottle brought back and sampled in Calgary. Very strong toast aroma. Very bready. Copper coloured with a thin head. Toasty malt flavour is strong through the finish. A bit lite in the body. A dark toasted piece of beer.

Bottle. Nice dark amber colour with a big fuzzy though rather short lasting head. Aroma of toasted malts, caramel and some hops. Smooth flavour of sweet malts, good hoppy bitterness, and hints of nuts. A nice long bit sweet dry aftertaste. This Cerveza Especial sure is special and in my opinion the very best mass produced beer in Mexico. The flower on the label is a "poinsettia". It turns red around winter time.

Ive had this beer many times at my fiancee’s house during the Christmas season and it remains one of my favorite mexican brews. Great aroma and taste and unlike many other domestic beers has no bad aftertaste.

Wow! I really enjoyed this beer. Great taste & that familiar Dos Equis flavor.

355 ml bottle (’07) from a friend at work who lives in Mexico: Deep amber color with a fading light tan head. Aroma is malty sweet. Nice sweet start and a little fruity with a lighty dry and bitter finish. Medium body is spritzy with lively carbonation.

Dark brown color. Small white foamy head. Aroma is malty, caramel and toast. A medium bodied Vienna. Malts are nutty and very slightly sweet. Hops are slightly spicy. A crisp and clean beer. It may be a bit watery, but its certainly a nice Mexican beer. It would be a good beer for a warm summer day, to bad it’s a Christmas Beer…. I do like this beer though.Mouthfeel is a touch thin, but rounded. Finish is clean and dry. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Bottle given by Peter and enjoyed the day after the A&K DC XMAS gathering:

Glowing coppery hue with a fading fizzy head and minimal lacing. The nose detects caramel, sweet bread, vanilla beans, earthy yeast, some apple, and grassy vapors. The taste is nicely fruity tart and caramel sweet. The feel is a bit metallic. A straight forward but tasty brew, easy to drink, smooth. I could drink a few of these.
