Tastes like a classic american dark lager, toasty, biscuity with just the right balance of noble hops to offset the sweetness. The only negative is the slightly sulfury nose. Overall great session beer during the holidays and goes good with all types of festive feasts, from the ususual turkey and trimmings to classic mexican dishes like posole and tamales.

Bottled: Grainy, light metallic aroma. Brown color, low creamy head, off-white color. Flavor is quite grainy, some corn notes, metalic, light herbal hops. Long, bitter finish.

Bottle - 355ml. Dark amber/ruby body with average carbonation and a fair off-white frothy head. Weak malty/hoppy aroma with some sweet hints. Decent taste that carries brown sugar and fruity notes. Ends with a short bittersweet finish. Drinkable.

2008 vintage, amber color, with a beige head, but falls quickly, light toasty, biscuity, caramel malt nose with a hint of fruitiness and toffeeness in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a toasty, biscuity malt character, with a faint cookie dough, toffee, caramel accent, with a hint of toasted crunchy cereals, light dried raisiny note leading towards malty, fruity finish.

2006 bottle from cornfield. brownish color, ruby highlights,no head, some tiny bubbles slide down side of glass. mild airy malt nose, slightly grassy and musty. flavor is not very different than the nose. touch of dried fruit, candyish. medium bodied, kinda oily mouth feel, dry finish. kinda unobstrusive, needs more character to become offensive. ho hum.

Bottle from the Oxxo in Mexico City. pour is a deep crimson brown. small off-white head. Yep, an american dark, skunky. Not much sweetness in the taste, pretty not good...
