COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Chocolate and brown malts contribute a deep rich color with Ruby highlights in this robust Porter. Bitterness from American chocolate malt is balanced by the sweet roastiness of toasted organic coconut.

Sample at Bad Parenting Club (plus a few dirty aunt/uncles?!): NC Beer Edition on 03/28/2015. Brownish-black color with a medium tan head that dissipates gradually to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate and mild coffee. Light to medium body with with flavors of chocolate malt, coffee and subtle coconut. The finish is roasty with a chocolate and coconut aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

On tap at Beer Study. Dark full black pour with one finger of tan head. Really nice roast in the nose, grain husk and burnt sugar. Nice body, medium to full bodied with a soft carbonation. Nice roast/dark grain character.

Lovely coconut porter with lots of chocolate dark malts with almost a spicy feel from the coconut instead of the typical velvety feel i am used to. Interesting but i don’t think i would buy it very often.

47,3 cl can @ lusikka, BBE 22.12.2014
Aroma has toffee typical to british ales, coffee and licorice. Flavour has somewhat salty licorice, sweet and deep roasted tones, cold coffee and some ash. Quite pleasant for this ABV, I like the sweet cocoa notes here.

473 ml can. Pours a black colour with a small beige head. Aroma of strong sweet cacao notes, some roasted corn, coffee notes and caramel. Rich flavour of roastiness, coffee, roasted corn, cacao and some licorice. Medium bodied. Soft carbonation. Finishes strong on roastiness, bitterness and cacao as well. Nice and rich for this ABV.

Can that was a consolation prize when my local beer store tapped their keg of Wicked Weed Coquito Brown Ale. Deep dark brown thin pour, moderately creamy off white head. Mild but nice bitter cocoa nose. Surprisingly bitter, earthy coffee and bitter cocoa notes. Grassy finish. We’re bordering on Black IPA here.
