Hop, Drop Ďn Rollô IPA For us this is where it all started! The rich golden color comes from a blend of English and American base malts accented with substantial amounts of Victory and Wheat malt. The American citrus hops take center stage with emphasis on late boil additions of Citra and Amarillo. This signature ale is hopped before, during, and after the boil!

Really tasty. Didnít win gold medal for nothing. Pours a nice orange color with minimal head but nice lacing. Nose is tons of hops- floral and melon and pine. The tropical flavors come through on the palate first- mango, passionfruit followed by a satisfying wander through a pine forest. Some dankness and acidity thrown in for good measure. Almost like all the flavours of a west coast IPA in one drink- layered and complex. Malty backbone to stand up to it all- drinks smoothly even at 80 IBU. Really well done.

Pours a hazy, barely translucent honey golden with a thin eggshell head. Aroma is very hoppy, more resiny than woody, with citrus undertone and malty hint. Texture is fairly firm and rather fizzy, leaving a citrusy and hoppy finish. Hop, drop and roll for one!

Good stuff - big hoppy, citrus nose and citrus and pine throughout the fist sip. Enough caramel malt to keep it interesting, but mostly this one is a hop bomb. Very tasty..

(draught) clear, deep gold, creamy fine white bubbles. Nose of crystal malt, tropical citrus, touch of sweaty socks, lacking a bit of aroma (maybe not as dry hopped as others?) but smells great. Taste is aggressively hopped, pine, citrus zest oils, bitter, crystal malt, more so hoppy than sweet, but a substantial malt character exists despite it being only 7.2%. Assertive bitter palate finish. I liked it but could only have one.

Part of an IPA tasting, full pour. Was excited to try this after hearing of the Gold Medal win. In a blind taste test, it still stood out. Aroma of orange and grapefruit, tangerine, hay/fresh grass. Really fresh citrus notes. Orange with fizzy head. Taste is concentration of the aromas. Some melon flavors here. Love the Citra characteristics in this one. One of my favorite hops, and a great showing here. Fantastic!

16 oz can. Canning date of 06/02/2012. Hazy amber color with little head in the snifter. Aroma is grainy (like spent grain in a mash to)with Earthy, leafy hops. Hints of pine and caramel. Flavor is much the same with dirty, earthy bitterness that only lingers for a short while after the finish. After reading the Description on the can I was expecting much more brighter hop profile. Nothing that stands out. I would just like to add that I was drinking 3 day old Heady Topper yesterday so comparing it to that is not fair.

Superb!! Can from trade and pours a hazy orange with medium head and sticky lacing. Aroma is citrus and tropical fruits with some dankness and maybe a hint of pine. Taste is grapefruit, lemon, orange, dank, just all around hoppy goodness. It has a nice bitterness in it and a dry finish. I enjoyed every sip of this beer and wish it was easier to get. One of my favorites for sure.

A chill canned rew provided me courtesy of Elizabeth Gambleís gentleman suitor.

Pours a nice hazy golden, almost orange with a big fluffy white head and lots of lacing on the glass.

The aroma is really nice, hop forward & pungent. Itís got a good bunch of melon and tropical fruit hop notes. Very appetizing.

The flavor certainly delivers on the aromaís promises. Loads of hop flavor, primarily melon, mango, and passion fruit with a little bit of pine. The bitterness is at a really nice level too, itís low to moderate but with a nice enough little punchiness to balance out all the fruit character. The beer has a mild sweetness with a nice dry finish.

The beer has a rich full mouthfeel with enough light prickliness to carry the bitterness of the flavor well across the palate.

Where the H was this rew when I was chillin @ Charlotte a few years back?

On tap, poured into a footed pilsner glass. The aroma is a light pine and resin with a floral note as well. It pours a slightly hazy orange - bronze color. Itís effervescent with a white head that reduces to a thin ring with a light wisp on the surface and it leaves a light stringy lace along the glass. Itís a medium high bitter taste with a medium sweetness to it. The light, oily texture has a light, near flat, carbonation - but what little bit is there is active. The medium - full hoppy body finishes dry with a grapefruit membrane flavor, some resin, and a light caramel touch. The aftertaste is grassy and resiny and sticks around for awhile.

UPDATED: JUN 24, 2014 Sampled on draft this beer poured a bright orange color with a small off whitehead that left decent lacing. The aroma was pine, citrus, perfume and was a bit dank. The flavor was sour and bitter dank hops, pine and catbox. Logn sour pine and catbox finish. Ok.
