4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Stopped by Duckworthís in Charlotte last week and having never tried anything from these guys, I stared out the evening with this.
The beer presented in a tall tulip glass. A slightly hazy dark amber/gold color with a good bit of froth on top. Big hoppy aroma. Grapefruit, orange slices, honeydew melon, freshly-ground hop cones. Thatís what Iím talking about. Very nice aroma. Iím excited for this one.
Moderate heft, holds up to the alcohol and flavor profile nicely. Crisp finish. Fresh hops all over the palate. Nothing tastes artificial or cheap here. Lots of fresh citrus fruity flavors, mild veggie greens, sweet honey malts - great balance! This was surprising. Such a great IPA. I am continually impressed and excited that NC is finally making some strides and improving their IPAs offered. One of the top-3 in the state IMO. Nice work, NoDa.

(draught) clear, deep gold, creamy fine white bubbles. Nose of crystal malt, tropical citrus, touch of sweaty socks, lacking a bit of aroma (maybe not as dry hopped as others?) but smells great. Taste is aggressively hopped, pine, citrus zest oils, bitter, crystal malt, more so hoppy than sweet, but a substantial malt character exists despite it being only 7.2%. Assertive bitter palate finish. I liked it but could only have one.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Part of an IPA tasting, full pour. Was excited to try this after hearing of the Gold Medal win. In a blind taste test, it still stood out.
Aroma of orange and grapefruit, tangerine, hay/fresh grass. Really fresh citrus notes. Orange with fizzy head.
Taste is concentration of the aromas. Some melon flavors here. Love the Citra characteristics in this one. One of my favorite hops, and a great showing here. Fantastic!

16 oz can. Canning date of 06/02/2012. Hazy amber color with little head in the snifter. Aroma is grainy (like spent grain in a mash to)with Earthy, leafy hops. Hints of pine and caramel. Flavor is much the same with dirty, earthy bitterness that only lingers for a short while after the finish. After reading the
Description on the can I was expecting much more brighter hop profile. Nothing that stands out. I would just like to add that I was drinking 3 day old Heady Topper yesterday so comparing it to that is not fair.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Superb!! Can from trade and pours a hazy orange with medium head and sticky lacing. Aroma is citrus and tropical fruits with some dankness and maybe a hint of pine. Taste is grapefruit, lemon, orange, dank, just all around hoppy goodness. It has a nice bitterness in it and a dry finish. I enjoyed every sip of this beer and wish it was easier to get. One of my favorites for sure.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
A chill canned rew provided me courtesy of Elizabeth Gambleís gentleman suitor.
Pours a nice hazy golden, almost orange with a big fluffy white head and lots of lacing on the glass.
The aroma is really nice, hop forward & pungent. Itís got a good bunch of melon and tropical fruit hop notes. Very appetizing.
The flavor certainly delivers on the aromaís promises. Loads of hop flavor, primarily melon, mango, and passion fruit with a little bit of pine. The bitterness is at a really nice level too, itís low to moderate but with a nice enough little punchiness to balance out all the fruit character. The beer has a mild sweetness with a nice dry finish.
The beer has a rich full mouthfeel with enough light prickliness to carry the bitterness of the flavor well across the palate.
Where the H was this rew when I was chillin @ Charlotte a few years back?

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap, poured into a footed pilsner glass. The aroma is a light pine and resin with a floral note as well. It pours a slightly hazy orange - bronze color. Itís effervescent with a white head that reduces to a thin ring with a light wisp on the surface and it leaves a light stringy lace along the glass. Itís a medium high bitter taste with a medium sweetness to it. The light, oily texture has a light, near flat, carbonation - but what little bit is there is active. The medium - full hoppy body finishes dry with a grapefruit membrane flavor, some resin, and a light caramel touch. The aftertaste is grassy and resiny and sticks around for awhile.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: JUN 24, 2014 Sampled on draft this beer poured a bright orange color with a small off whitehead that left decent lacing. The aroma was pine, citrus, perfume and was a bit dank. The flavor was sour and bitter dank hops, pine and catbox. Logn sour pine and catbox finish. Ok.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Generously shared by one of the fine Portland RB folks at a tasting - Pours clear bronze with an off-white head. The aroma has very fruity and tropical hops, mild toasty malt and caramel. Itís medium bodied and lightly rough with pleasant carbonation. Flavors begin with dry caramel, some earthy hops, pine and a hint of fruit. The finish is very dry with a nice balance of cracker and earthiness. Solid IPA to say the least.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Can from trade. Nose is a citrus and tropical bomb! A cross between slightly danky citrus and a lemon/orange note with just some earthiness behind that. Taste is initially only moderately bitter then the hop flavor comes through to shine, like a chewy hop cone without any astringency and only slightly grassy. Hop flavor shows more lemon up front and then fades and dries with a more earthy character to it. dry finish, moderate carbonation, no signs of alcohol warming. I could move to charlotte just for this beer.
