COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hop, Drop n Roll IPA For us this is where it all started! The rich golden color comes from a blend of English and American base malts accented with substantial amounts of Victory and Wheat malt. The American citrus hops take center stage with emphasis on late boil additions of Citra and Amarillo. This signature ale is hopped before, during, and after the boil!

On tap at VBGB in Charlotte. Orange color with a big white head. Lots of citrus in the nose and in the palate, with a great hop finish. I really liked this one.

16 ounce can. Pours a clear golden orange with a nice off-white head. Aroma of citrus, tropical, pine, and malt. Taste is grapefruit, lemon, orange, tropical, pine, and malt. Excellent.

Slightly catty, slightly soapy, lightly diacetyl AIPA aroma. Slightly foggy. Slippery mouthfeel. Pleasant diacetyl, staunchly bitter, mineral, not fruity or sweet in particular. Way drinkable. Thanks to someone for sharing this at Baby Proof.

This is a 99?!? Can is dated 10/7. Older than I prefer, but in range with stuff I commonly see on the shelf. Kind of a bitter sweetness, too malt heavy. Skunky old hops.

My Bottom Line:
This textbook American IPA pairs caramel malts with mango-like hop aromatics before leaving salient earthy hop resins on the palate.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A thin veil of foam floats atop the misty pale amber.
-Bitterness lingers quite long once again for a NoDa brew.
-There is too much caramel for my tastes in IPA, but I respect the craftsmanship in the beer.
-Carbonation is prickly and the mouthfeel sweetish.
-I prefer Foothills Hoppyum IPA in North Carolina IPAs.

On tap at the brewery taproom.

This brew pours a hazy orange-gold color with a medium creamy white head that diminishes gradually. Sticky rings of lacing on the glass. The aroma is lemony with grassy hop and malt notes. Medium-bodied with flavors of zesty citrus, piney hops and bready malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a lingering citrusy hops aftertaste. Solid IPA all around.

Draft at Charlotte airport. Poured a medium amber, slight haze, good head. Aroma was a hop bomb of citrus, and pine over caramel. Flavor matched, rather delightfully I might add. One really nicely done IPA. Hop bomb in the best possible way with the malt not shying away either.

Huge amarillo bong water nose. Crystal clear amber in the glass with some lacing. Smooth mouthfeel. Nice lightly sweet malt backbone. Lemony resiny hop character. Big long hoppy finish. A very fine American IPA.

Can pour into a brandy snifter. Pours a hazy copper with a white head. Good lacing and retention. Aroma is grassy, herbal, dank. Taste is sugary sweet and mildly bitter. Finishes dry. Medium carbonation.
