3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft at Vintner. Dark red colored pour with a tan head on it. Smell is spicy and full of rye and hop notes. Taste pretty bitter, thick, hoppy, spicy, little bit of citrus from the overload of hops. Pretty good, alcohol isnt noticeable. Not really a bad beer, but I think one is enough.

On tap @ NoDa with jcnielsen. Pours a hazy dark golden orange appearance with an off white head. Rye, gummy sweet caramel malt in the aroma. A touch of fruits. Fairly high sweetness and bitterness. Spicy rye and candy flavor with some tropical fruits thrown in. Strong. Disappointing.

Served in a Tulip at the brewery’s taproom. Pours a copper color with thin off-white head. Lots of lacing. Aroma yields pine, sawdust, grass. Taste is peppery rye upfront. Slight honey on the back end. The higher ABV isn’t overly hidden.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap at beer study. Pours hazy mahogany with reddish hue, off white foam. Nose is light rye, grassy, light citrus, lots of caramel malt. Similar flavor, a little sweeter than the founders rendition but better than the BA version which just adds too much sweetness.
