Malty, toasted, caramel aroma with noticeable sweetness but not overwhleming. Medium, smooth mouth. Flavor is sweet caramel malt, brown sugar, nutty. Packed full of flavor for a 4.5% beer. I would happily down this all night.

Amber in color with a thick tan head. Malty and smooth with a bit of nuttiness and not too sweet.

From the tap poured an amber color with a fair amount of head. Light malty flavor with a quick finish.

On tap at the brewpub. Very interesting texture with the cask fermentation. Was somewhat flavorless, sadly, although there was nothing particularly offputting about it. It was certainly malty with a little bit of sweetness that I was expecting.

Not a ton of aroma with this one. It certainly looks the business but it doesn’t really taste of anything. Nice carbo on the mouth but to little effect. Session beers can’t just be low in alcohol and finish clean, they also have to have taste.

On tap. Pours a clear dark amber with a small white head that quickly dissipates. Nose is caramel malt and spicy hop. Taste is caramel malt and a slight hop bitterness. Clean finish.

True to the style which is why the ratings for this beer is so low. A wonderful malty aroma from a dark brown pour with a small off white head. The flavor is true to the style with mostly malt sweetness, a bit of smoke, and some earthiness like the moors of Scotland.

On tap, at brewery. Pours a clear amber body with a small off-white head. Nice slightly sweet nose, slightly grainy, with a touch of a light chemical note. The flavor is sweet, but not cloying with a slightly husky finish. There’s a slight almost sour/tart twang on the finish that came out as it warmed. Light to medium bodied with fizzy carbonation. A little thinned out on the back end. An OK beer, but nothing special at all.

Cask @ Nodding head. Darker amber pour, light peat, sweet caramel malts. Notes of tea in the finish. Pretty smooth & easy to drink but light in the flavor department
