| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 18, 2009 Dark brown beer with a thin tan head. Aroma is lightly phenolic as well. A bit of earthy chocolate in the nose. Malty sweetness with more caramel obvious through the middle. Slightly astringent toward the back of the palate. The body is initially full-bodied, but it seems to thin the more of it you drink. It’s okay, but it’s no brown ale.... DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA

Very light chocolate-malty nose emanating from a creamy, near black, opaque oily surface with a super-creamy lasting head. Nuts, chocolate, and a smidgeon of rosemary in the flavor; could have more heft but otherwise quite good.
