From tap at the brewpub. Pours hazy dark brown to black with a small tan head. Aroma is dark roasted malty, slight liqourice and dark breadish. Bitter, herbal and slight spiced to a toffee dry dark malty flavoured. Bitter and dark roasted malty finish.

Dark brown beer with a thin tan head. Aroma is lightly phenolic as well. A bit of earthy chocolate in the nose. Malty sweetness with more caramel obvious through the middle. Slightly astringent toward the back of the palate. The body is initially full-bodied, but it seems to thin the more of it you drink. Itís okay, but itís no brown ale....
