BuckNaked (1195), Tempe, Arizona, USA Feb 5, 2006 On draught at RFD’s (Lupulin Slam 2006): Medium to dark amber body with a small beige-colored head that sticks, though does not seem very creamy and thick. The aroma is light citrus and grapefruit, but definitely not as fresh and assertive as many other lupulin slam beers. The taste is definitely unique for a hopped-out beer - starts out with flavors of rich malt and smoky chocolate, then towards the finish notes of grapefruit, burlap sack, and grains come through. Interestingly with this one the hops don’t really come out in the taste until almost when you swallow. Light-medium body, no alcohol apparency. jasonp (1446), Sterling/Dulles, Virginia, USA Jan 28, 2006 Sampled at Lupulin Slam III, 2006. Somewhat dark clear copper with a little off-white head. Nice aroma of fresh citrusy hops. The flavor, however is a bit off and metallic with notes of grapfruit, pine and caramel. Lingering bitter aftertaste. Medium bodied, a little thin for the style. Overall, not bad but it was the weakest offering of the night. bombshelter (348), Washington, Washington DC, USA Jan 28, 2006 lupulin slam #3. dark amber. clean mild aroma, some spicy hops. lots of hop flavor with not a ton of bitterness. earthy with some biscuit character and caramel. good. argo0 (6230), Washington DC, USA Jan 28, 2006 (Lupulin Slam III, draft) Crystal clear copper body with off-white head. Aroma is medium sweet, orange/grapefruit, caramel. Taste is medium sweet, grapefruit, caramel, grassy/herbal. Strong bitter finish. Watery light-medium body that holds the alcohol well.
