Organic brown ale, the follow-up to the blonde version, with cane sugar. Dryish, bready character, dried fruits, caramelly malts; apparently made for Stepaja, the company which used to promote the used of the Stevia plant as a replacement to sugar.

1/XII/13 - 33cl bottle @ Komkommertijd (Gent) - BB: n/a (2013-1110)

Note: guess what beer I found one day later when going through all the bottles I had bought at the Zytholoog in Adegem a few weeks ago? Yup.
Clear muddy brown beer, creamy irregular beige head, pretty stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: overripe banana, caramel, quite a lot of chocolate, dried fruits, a bit soapy. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: sweet start, lots of chocolate, some caramel, bit sour, overripe banana. Aftertaste: little bitter, metallic touch, mainly chocolate.

Brune ambrée, effervescence faible, col disparaît trop rapidement. Malts caramel à peine torréfiés, un peu aqueuse, un rien épicée. Quel ennui!

#1267 Ein dunkelbraunes, leicht trübes Bier mit Blockmalzaroma, das reinste Malzbonbon. Der Abgang könnte ne Spur Hopfen vertragen, ansonsten recht gefällig.

Small to medium, yellow-beige head over reddish amber, veiled beer. Spiced (staraniseed, pinch of cinnamon) bread nose, good touch of caramel; caramelized orange peel - sweet but attractive. Roasted-bitterish flavour, with some UK hop-like notes backthroat, and of course more caramel, if not really sweet. Spritzy carbonation, quite slick and medium bodied. Bit sticky aftertaste. Spiced (yeast,) notes working against the general syrupy sweetness. OK, if precarious balance.

Bottled. A hazy deep red beer with a light tan head. The aroma has strong notes of fruit and some malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, and over ripe fruits as well as a light touch of metal , leading to a dry finish.
