Flavour is quite malty, roasted notes, brown sugar, alcohol, chocolate fudge, with a big citrus hop bitterness in the finish. Fairly smooth on the tongue, medium body. Complex and enjoyable. The sweetness is nicely balanced out by the big hop character. hallinghansen (265), Odense SV, Denmark

Aroma: chocolate, malt, citrus, grapefruit, wheat, banana. Taste: very present citrusy hop taste, but has a lot of barley wine notes too, dark fruit, caramel, chocolate. Some alc in the end too, but the 10% i well hidden. Borresteijn (1397), Amsterdam, Netherlands

Aroma of creamy chocolate, molasses, a little bit of alcohol, grapefruit hoppiness. Flavour is very soft, thick and sweet first, molasses, chocolate, followed by a good drying zesty grapefruit bitterness. Fullbodied, thick mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Nice twist on the DIPA style. Pours a beautiful red with a light brown dense head with good duration. Hoppy and sweet malty aroma. Flavour is initially malty sweet then dominated by hop bitterness with some licorice. At this stage of life definitly more barley wine than IPA. Great Chrism86 (274), Melbourne, Australia

Caramel & toffee from the malt as well as apricot and citrus from the hops, big hop profile noticable. Palate translates very well. Some initial malt sweetness before spiced apricot, citrus and hops interweave to drive a long bitter finish. Certainly a barley wine as apposed to 2ipa, except with a touch of darker choc. Awesome example of a new world barley wine. Anker (306), Hillerød, Denmark
