Commercial Description:
Our 100th batch, brewed for the enjoyment of the brewers, but popular demand forced us to release it commercially. Most enjoyable in a comfortable chair in front of a roaring fire.

Recommended serving temperature 16°C/61°F Ingredients: Maris Otter, wheat, and chocolate malt; Columbus, Chinook, and Centennial hops; English ale yeast, and our local Grimstad water.

23,5°P, 80 IBU, 10% ABV.

Editor's note: Even though the label says "Barley Wine" in the States, the brewery says it's brewed to be an IIPA. The American label was a glitch. In Europe it's sold as an IIPA.

500 ml bottle courtesy of sprinkle. Pours a dark brown color with a large beige head. The aroma is a little on the light side, but includes dark malts, moderate sweetness, and a hint of the hops. The flavor is very much like a barleywine, or at least an aged DIPA. It opens with a hefty dose of caramel malt goodness, followed by some hoppy bitterness and a little roast. The alcohol comes through a bit as it warms. This is another solid offering from Nogne O.

Purchase at the New Beer Distributors in NYC. Dark red in color with a three finger head that descents at a very slow pace. The aroma is very interesting and nice with hints of citrus. Taste of hops, but well balanced and hides the alcohol fairly well.

Crushed with Jakebra and hopefully with Honkeybra. Very confused after reading the description. Dont care what they say, it smells and looks like a barley wine. Flavor is ipa. Nice, could be the greatest combination ever. Pours black, nose of big hops and definitely dark fruits. Mostly hops in the flavor, which I guess makes it a ipa. Wicked bizzah and awesome. Awesome no matter what it happens to be. Honkeybra, gimme more.

Bottle. Pours a dark amber body with an off white head. Lots of malty caramel up front with a grapefruit body and a strong alcohol warming. Chewy citrus hoppiness to finish. Good beer.

500ml bottle, served in a snifter. Bottle conditioned. Pours a deep reddish brown with two fingers of off white head. Plenty of carbonation. Piney hops in the aroma at first. Malt comes out in the aroma as it warms. Deep malty flavor. Hop bitterness in the finish, but not as much as the aroma would suggest. Very balanced, not a hit you over the head beer. Chocolate malt and fruit develops as it warms. Alcohol is not really evident. Long dry hoppy finish.

Dark amber in color with a huge foamy head that lasts the entire life of the beer. Sweet smell. Sweet, chocolaty, roasty, somewhat smokey and slightly sour taste. Very complex beer. Sliky, creamy texture. Longlasting warm finish. I really liked this beer but not as much as Nogne Porter or Imperial Stout.
