Commercial Description:
Our 100th batch, brewed for the enjoyment of the brewers, but popular demand forced us to release it commercially. Most enjoyable in a comfortable chair in front of a roaring fire.

Recommended serving temperature 16°C/61°F Ingredients: Maris Otter, wheat, and chocolate malt; Columbus, Chinook, and Centennial hops; English ale yeast, and our local Grimstad water.

23,5°P, 80 IBU, 10% ABV.

Editor's note: Even though the label says "Barley Wine" in the States, the brewery says it's brewed to be an IIPA. The American label was a glitch. In Europe it's sold as an IIPA.

solid dark brown, frothy beige head, drippy bits of lace, rich dark caramel and chocolate aroma with lots of citrus and earthy hops, creamy body, rich chocolate flavor, nice sweetness from a dark caramel character enrichens the chocolate, lots of earthy and citrus hops balances the sweetness, long lasting bitterness, the rich chocolate and citrus make an unusualy but very tasty combination,

A double IPA with a dark brown look, nice with something different! The dark brown look is caused by some amount of roasted malts challengin the usual strong hobby notes of grape and pine, by giving the nose a sleightly toasted/burned touch, kinda like a schwarzbeer. At first the roastyness isnt felt at all in the flavor, just a powerfull overwhelming bitterness backed up by some honney like sweetness. Just as it should be! The roasted malts are tasted in the finish, and definetly makes this beer one of the most interesting double IPA’s i’ve had. Good one.

bottle.....pours darkey than your average barleywine or DIIPA or whatever this may be. also a very thick fluffy light brown head.....nose of light pine and floral hops accented by some malt.....flavors of caramel which then evolve to some chewy pine hops that add a bit of bitterness to the mix.

1pt .9oz bottle. Poured a dark and muddy amberish / brownish color with a huge, huge sized tan head. Aromas of caramel, citrus, pine, earthy, tobacco, and toffee. Tastes of caramel, some dark fruits, nutty, citrus, and tobacco. Light to medium alcohol in the finish.

Pours black without much head but a ring of bubbles around the edge leaves slight lacing on the glass. The aroma is fruity with a fresh hoppy blast up front. The flavor is caramel sweet at first, then makes way for the bitter hop flavors that hit the back of the tongue and linger through the aftertaste. This is easily one of my favorite IPAs.

Bottle from Capones, sampled with Stegosaurus. Dark brown pour with tan head and good lacing.Caramel\black malt and dark fruit aromas. Sweet malty taste up front with a bitter dry finish. Good blend, good brew. NOGNE0 impresses me every time !! The cerimonial humping of the bottle was done.

A dark brown pour that is oddly dark with a tan head and lace. A nose of hard dry fruit. A flavor of roasted malt with a nice malt/hoppy bitter. Solid palate carbonation is smooth and creamy. A very good offering.
