India Saison is the hoppy, crisp and refreshing result of a north south collaboration. Classic Belgian malts and yeast, pungent Australian new hop varieties and clean Norwegian water. Served chilled and enjoy with cheeses and charcuterie. This product is bottle conditioned and has a slight sediment at the bottom of the bottle.

(Draught at Beer Temple, Amsterdam, 20 Aug 2014) Golden colour with frothy, white head. Fruity, malty nose with peaches, citrus, earthy/spicy yeast and grassy hops. Malty spicy taste with notes of bread, citrus, peaches, coriander, earthy hints of yeast and spicy hops in a dry finish with a generous bitterness. More than medium body, quite dry. Tasty and quite complex. Nice one.

Bottle from notes. Pours a hazy golden orange color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have herbal hops, a splash of grapefruit, grass, pale malts, lightly toasted bread, caramel, interesting beer, easy to drink.

from Mondial de la Bière 2013, Mulhouse - cloudy orange beer under a long lasting white foam; some caramel in front of a fruity and flowery aroma; full-bodied, some sweetness, light earthy and sourish; long aftertaste of caramel and oranges; pretty dry

The beer is a light orange-yellow color. Quite cloudy. The head is large and white, fairly rocky. Sticks to the walls of the glass well. The aroma is lemongrass, lime, grape hop flavors. It’s all bright and sweet. Fresh, clean malt character. The yeast is a bit in the background but adds a pleasantly earthy saison note. Mildly dry taste, a bit sweeter than expected. There’s a good deal of hop flavor, lightly juicy with a sharp lime peel edge. It finishes up dry and yeasty. Rather refreshing. Just a bit more sweetness than I’d like. Light-ish mouthfeel. Normal carbonation for the style.

Belgian-looking saison with a lot of hops. Smells fruity with a lot of citrus, lemon grass and flowery meadows. Persistant american bitterness which gets balanced against a hint of belgian vinosity. Pure hoppiness in the aftertaste; which is good but not very interesting. Always a treat to drink Nøgne Ø, especially when abroad.

Pours a cloudy/hazy orange colour, with a foam head quickly dissipating to a thin lacing. Love the belgian yeast and menthol aroma with this beer, it’s a great preparation for the slick, sweet sasion taste that gives way to a surprisingly hoppy IPA finish. I hope these Bridge Road-Nogne collaborations continue so more great beers like this and the aurora beers are created, and Nogne gets on more bottleshop shelves throughout Australia!
