India Saison is the hoppy, crisp and refreshing result of a north south collaboration. Classic Belgian malts and yeast, pungent Australian new hop varieties and clean Norwegian water. Served chilled and enjoy with cheeses and charcuterie. This product is bottle conditioned and has a slight sediment at the bottom of the bottle.

(50 cl bottle from Den Nordiske Ølhandel; Batch #755; BBD; January 25th 2017) Pours a slightly hazy amber, with frothy, white head and lively carbonation. Beautiful lacework, good retention and decent regeneration. Aroma is fresh and vinous with notes of saison yeast and some tropical fruits. Oily texture, medium body with a moderately bitter and astringent finish. Flavour follows the nose but has more herbal hoppy bitterness. An exciting and pleasant beer although I would prefer it with a little less ABV and hop bitterness and ever so slightly more aromatic hops. I guess the aroma would be more hop forward had I gotten it fresher. This one was brewed 12 months ago already.

0,5l bottle. Hazy golden with thick white head. Aroma of malts, fresh, fruity, citrusy, light honey, caramel. Taste is medium bitter, light caramely sweet with some acidic notes. Medium body, average carbonation, creamy texture. Bit strong for a saison, but although very fresh.

Bottled in 2012 so really not fresh anymore, still far from its "bäst fore" in 2017 though. Pours a clear golden with a medium-high white head that leaves nice lacing. Nose is kind of strange with strong candi sugar fighting some peppery esters. It must have been a lot different fresh so don’t let that stop you. Alcohol does show a bit, too. Taste strikes you with burnt sugar or maybe candi sugar again and fruits. Kind of sweet and un-saison if you ask me. Still, not gross or anything. Body is medium, carbonation too. Overall I’ll need to rerate a fresher sample but I’m still a believer that saisons should be less than 5.5% ABV and not contain any excess sugars.

Lysbrun med høyt og fast skum som holder lenge. Lukta fyller rommet med banan, roser og friskt gress. Smak av brøddeig og nyslått gress med en blomsteraktig bitterhet mot slutten. Fyldig ettersmak. One more please!

Aroma and Taste: Nice fresh and fruity hoppyness in the nose. The same can be tasted, from the aromatics I would guess that this is mostly Galaxy. Saison esters could be a bit more dominant, especially some earthy notes, but I am just nitpicking. Pleasant bitterness Appeareance: Pours a bit hazy but great, fine pored head. Palate: Relatively high carbonation. Very drinkable body ;-) Overall: Great and nicely balanced.

Bottle from Hop Leaf at home. Dirty hazy yellow pour with big fluffy head - saison-y. Aroma is slightly sweet, honey dew melon - hops? - and usual saison notes of pepper, farm, etc. Taste is a bit hoppier than most saisons, and a bit smoother. Citrus hoppy bitterness and again a slightly honey dew melon taste - unusual but good. Not a bad combo of the two styles but definitely more on the saison side. Would probably get again.

Pours brown-yellow with a white head. Smells of brown sugar, caramel and citrus. You can definitely taste the hops in this one. Oily texture with a lively carbonation. Very long, bitter finish.

Aroma of citrus, funky yeast, tropical notes, floral notes, fresh grassy hops. Flavour is light sweet and light tart, leading to a long bitter finish. Interesting and quite tasty.

(old) bottle at home. Poured a clear amber with slight short lived white head. Nose is fresh, lively raspberry leaves with low hoppy notes. Tastes strongly bitter with long influence. OK

Light citrus and spice aroma. Pours a hazy honeyed colour with a light white head that dissipates quickly. Soft at the start, then very bitter with mild carbonation.
