On tap at Barcelona Beer Festival 2014. I think it’s this version. Dark red color. Thin head. Sticky body. Medium to high sweetness. Medium bitterness. Low sourness. Aroma is fruity, caramel, herby, woody.

Wunderbares Piwo mit diversen Kräuternuancen, dazu etwas Honig und Beeren. Sehr süffig, sehr trinkbar, dazu wundervoll aromatisch. Fein.

Bottle from trade with Meilby - many thanks! The beer pours out in a deep black colour with low head and medium body. Aroma of malt, barley and spices. Taste of cardamom, white pepper, cinnamon, bay leaves, cloves, barley, malt and woods. Very spicy finish. The Special Holiday Ale has got a very special and extraordinary taste and palate. Very interesting beer.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Creamy head over a black body. Heavy spice, but luckily also rich malts. Quite clean yeast buy full malts. Warming alcohol, cereal malts, foresty hops. It’s just rich enough to withstand all those aniseed, clove and peppery spices. Fairly bitter and woody sweetness but a bit too spiced still in the end. American interpretation of a Belgian brown ale. But within that category it’s not so bad. (50cl bottle from Saveur Bière)

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Rated on 01-09-2010 at Fort Wayne, IN Winter Gathering. This beer forms a small tan head with a long retention, opaque brown body, and spotty amounts of lacing. The Aroma is malty, berries and spicy. The Taste is sweet, quite malty, berries, and spicy. The Palate is tingly and this beer is medium-full bodied. Overall, this beer has a unique flavor and is worth trying.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pour is dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is of toffee, nuts, molasses, and peat. Flavor is much like the aroma with some spice and dark fruit added. This is all over the place with spice, fruit, and sweet malts. I’m not sure if it works.

A very nice pumpkin beer. The pumpkin is there, but understated. Lots of spices give this beer distinction, especially nutmeg.
