3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle 500ml. @ home.
[ Trade by yngwie ]. Clear dark red brown color with a average to large, creamy, good lacing, fully lasting, off-white to beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, fruity - berry, pumpkin - cinnamon - nutmeg, maybe ginger also, light roastead, nutty notes. Flavor is light heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter with a long duration, anis - juniper, berries, spicy, sweet. Body is medium, texture is oily - syrupy and sticky, carbonation is soft. Not my liking to sweet and strange spicy ..

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. It looks quite lovely in the glass, it’s almost clear, chestnut-colored, and a finger-thcik, creamy, beige head sits patiently on top, leaving some lacings as the glass empties. The aroma has a nice anise-like start, guess it’s the sage playing. A juniper-like touch also chimes in, along with roasted malts, dired fruits, caramel and little touch of molasses or some other dark sugar. It’s full-bodied and almost sticky sweet, but with enough alcohol and bitterness to cope with it. At least as a beer for the darker, colder months. There’s licorice and juniper berries too in the flavor, and a fine bitterness to finish it. Loved drinking this one last Christmas, so much I obviously forgot rating it, and was delighted to hear it will return this year. 100711
