Bottle from Rakuten. Served in a mini-tulip it pours a thick oily black with a thin rusty tan head. A savoury chocolate fudge, nutty, cacao with some heat. Full bodied with a scratchy mouthfeel. Lots of heat going down, the taste is a bit smokey, roasty chocolate, savoury and bitter cacao beans, some berry sweetness. The longer you sip the more you get out of it.

25cl bottle, served in tulip. This beer is the darkness itself with a nice tan head. Aromas of wood, roasted malts, dark chocolate and licorice. The flavour does not have licorice, but a lot of coffee instead. Dark chocolate is also substantially present. Dry and warm on the palate, so smooth despite the ABV. Very robust and perfectly carbonated, which is an awesome result in that context. Overall: great Imperial Stout.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a nice dark brown foamy head with some retention and light lacing notes. Aroma of dry roasted malt with black chocolates notes, light tobacco notes and some molasses. Taste is a complex mix of dry roasted malt, woody notes, molasses and candi sugar with some black chocolates notes. Body is full and close to motor oil with some warming alcohol that is perceptible. Quite intense and complex but also quite a rewarding beer.

Bottle, for my 7900th rating. Viscous near black with brown highlights and a thick foamy brown head. Extremely malty aroma, lots of soy sauce, a bit of anise. Brothy and briney, soy sauce with some residual dark sugars, a bit of anise, woody undertones. Boozy but not hot or harsh. Not as complex as I had hoped.
