4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Shared 8 oz. bottle, poured to snifters, showing a black/brown hue, with a modest layer of brownish tan head foam that diminished expeditiously to a ring & film, and left some leggy spots and syrup on the glass. The nose was rich & roasted, tar, maybe a hint of soy, but more as a salty oyster shot to me. Full bodied, with additional notes of dark fruit, sweet treacle, and dryness in the taste. The alcohol was surprisingly non boozy, as it melded nicely into the complexity.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Jet black pour with a small tan head that dissipates quickly into a tan ring. Aromas of pipe tobacco, charcoal, molasses, and grilled beef...in a good way. Taste is a wonderful smokey combination of the aroma. Very complex Abv is completely hidden, this is a smooth sipper. Delicious.
